Worst dining experience I've had in years. On our way back from Erie, decided to stop at Meadville Cracker barrel as it was just off the exit. Scheduled our spot in line and that went well, but that's all that did.
Got seated then waited 10+ minutes for a waitress to show, it was kinda busy, no big deal.
Placed our order for food and drinks. I ordered there breaded pork chops, which was there meal of the day, my wife ordered a sampler plate (just a combo of meatloaf and chicken)
This is when things totally went south. 10+ minutes passed and still no drinks, ok, thinking busy.
Then another couple was seated directly next to us. Our waitress showed up pretty fast to get their order and we still have no drinks, I let it pass again.
Then magically she brings them their drinks pretty much immediately, looking right at us as she puts their drinks on the table, I tried to get the waitresses attention as she left their table (not sure if she ignored me or did not hear)
Ok, then she returns the area we were sitting and I'm kinda waving my hands to get her attention, but no reaction, finally lady who got their drinks called out to her and told her we needed her. She came over and I told her we did not get our drinks. She said she would bring them right out, waited at least another 5 minutes to get them
At this point I'm now upset and wanted to leave, wife talked me out of it.
Then it happened, she brought the food to the couple seated next to us out ( please note they ordered at least 15 minutes after we did) now I'm pissed.
Get our waitress attention asking what is going on with our food, she leaves to check (another 10 minutes).
She comes back and tells me that their food came out in a "Batch"🤔🤔🤔 and that's why they got theirs before us, but my pork chops (their Saturday special) would be coming out very soon.
Wanted to leave and go to applebees, wife talked me out of it.
Sat another 10 minutes and still no food, we left.
I am a patient person to say the least, I fully understand the constraints that waitresses endure (my wife was for 5 years), but I have never ever received this type of service.
If you are traveling avoid this place, go...
Read moreI am from out of town and wanted to sit down for a nice meal. This is by far the WORST Cracker Barrel experience I have ever had. I used to love this place. First, they were out of dressing at 630pm...dinner time. I settled for mashed potatoes instead. Which was nothing more than boiled potatoes and mashed full of lumps and water. No flavor at all. Served on a tiny child-like saucer that they charge $3.00 for. The green beans tasted great. The fried chicken that they are promoting was completely dry...like it had been sitting for awhile. I couldn't say anything because the waitress never came to ask if I was ok or how the food tastes. When she did come it was to bring the check. I had wanted some pie but at this point I was so upset, I never even mentioned it. There were 2 pieces of chicken (a breast and a wing) untouched left on the plate. I couldn't take them to anyone because I had no one to bring me a box and I wasnt about to walk out with them in my bare hands or wrapped in a napkin. To add insult to injury, when I went to pay, I was asked how everything was. I told her all that I mentioned above. Her response: "I'm sorry". She said she was going to offer to take off the $2.00 charge for my drink, but I had water, so ha ha (she thought it was funny) nothing to take off. To me, an apology is an action word...
UPDATE: Well, I did later call and explain the situation to the manager. He was very empathetic and wanted to make things right. 1st, he wanted to know who my server was and who checked me out of the restaurant. Then, he wanted to send me a gift card good for 2 free meals. both of those actions have restored my fondness for...
Read moreThe visit started out fine, we were a little annoyed that the seeming policy to that you have to ask for your bread if you want it before your meal. Okay we get it, then we get told that there is a 10 minute hold on our food and see people that came in after us getting served before getting the same thing that we were told my order was held of. Then by the time it gets to our table my meat was overdone to the point that I could have actually injured somebody with it. My husband's meal was cold his baked potato was crispy crunchy. Overall I miss how cracker barrel used to be where the food was reliably always a hit. Unfortunately this isn't the first let down that we have had at cracker barrel as a whole, we would love to see the old cracker barrel make its return. We had hoped with the fiasco with the logo that cracker barrel had really meant that they were back and weren't going anywhere but, unfortunately the food quality dictated that isn't going to be the case. The manager was absolutely awesome listened and was very understanding. I know it is not the manager's fault that the food quality isn't good but, we saw others have the chicken and also have to send it back for seemingly the same reasons. So I guess all in all if you do go avoid the fried chicken however sad it might make you. Because I know when I go to cracker barrel the fried chicken is always what I go for. I'm on sure if because it was honey fried chicken if that messed up the frying and made it as hard as it was or what caused that. We still will be returning, because we know cracker barrel even when it's not the best it still tastes good as long as you avoid the now a seemingly...
