I wish I could give this location a higher rating. It was attractive, pleasant atmosphere upon entering, and would have been clean were the tables bussed. I watched a server clear a booth, wipe the table with a wet cloth, then replace the dirty cups back onto the table. The restrooms were very clean. Josh greeted us, when he was free from ringing register, we were seated. Center tables were cleared and free but only 2 booths. We were asked which we preferred, table or booth (it is habit to say, "booth"). Josh apologized for the number of uncleaned booths (it can get busy) and said our server would be, Natalie. We're not picky, we were in no rush, so there was no problem sitting in a back corner booth to wait. Twenty minutes after we were seated, several customers had entered, were seated, provided with drinks, orders taken, and served their food across the restaurant. Natalie was MIA (maybe she's on break), we flagged Josh who apologized and brought us drinks. Time goes by, 3 booths were properly cleared for seating, this time adjacent to us. Servers knew we were sitting there because they looked at us, therefore we decided to go. There is a difference in waiting 27 minutes when it is busy and being ignored. It makes a customer feel uncomfortable to be seen then ignored. A member of our party tried to pay for our drinks, but she (Hostess at the register) declined to take the payment. We were not upset or angry, just uncomfortable. We were offered to come back inside to make it right which we declined, and our information was taken to send us a coupon which we won't use. We just wanted to pay for what we did get, & compliment Josh and the Hostess and wish them a good day. I don't feel we were welcome or wanted as customers. I wouldn't ever go back or recommend it. I hope I never get that feeling again.
Update: A member of our party received a nice card and hand written apology for our unfortunate experience at this Perkins location in Meadville, Pa. Enclosed were two cards to present with an encouragement to visit again. Because of this I recant my statement above about not returning or recommending this Perkins location. Everyone has a bad or off day, maybe that day was their off day. Unfortunately, we were in the area for a specific reason and had never been in that area before. If in the futue, for some unknown reason, I find an opportunity to try this location again I will. If I do I will change my rating and recommendations. Everyone has a bad day, and deserves...
Read moreWent out to dinner with my mother this afternoon. We were seated and waited on but then when the waitress came back she basically threw my mother’s side salad at her, with the bowl covered in ranch dressing and the entire salad looking like they threw a few pieces of lettuce in a overflowed bowl of ranch dressing. She then brought out our food, but did not check on us for the remaining 45 minutes we were there. Not to check on the food, ask about refills, or anything. There were at most eight other people eating in the entire restaurant with the wait staff walking around aimlessly and talking in the kitchen. She completely ignored our table, asking her other tables if they needed anything and then walking right by us several times without a look. When needing a refill and another side, we had to call over a young waiter who filled these needs. The manager asked how our meals were, to which we explained the TERRIBLE service of our waitress. She then asked if my mother would like “a muffin” for this happening and then tried to make an excuse that her waitress needed to help her in the back when she was already aimlessly walking around doing other things except for our table. After the manager stated that she would “look into this and do something about it” our waitress continued to not come check on our table OR even give us our check after fifteen more minutes of waiting. Absolutely ridiculous service by derelicts that should not be put in customer service/restaurant positions. We ended up having to go up to get our check and then pay without the check even being ready. Literally will not be going back here for a long time, the worst experience I’ve ever had in...
Read moreI do breakfast with a group of ladies once a month here. Our waitress is the best! She knows when we are coming and sets up a table for us before we even get there. I’m a bit of a coffee snob so I just tell, I will have coffee when they make a fresh pot and I don’t mind waiting. This week she had fresh coffee as I walked in the door. Her and her twin sister are top rated servers! B&B I had a very delicious breakfast of blueberry pancakes, fried eggs, and sausage. Every bite was perfect! I have had a lot of the menu items and it always is good and pictured just like the menu shows it. Perkins is clean and inviting. My favorite breakfast is the OG Benedict. With blueberry pancakes a close second. BUT my favorite thing that Perkins has is their Lemon Meringue Pie! One thing I wish they would change is handicap entry. It’s impossible to open the doors from a wheelchair and then there are two doors with an antiroom. They only need to change one entrance with one button inside and out that will open both doors at the same time. There is plenty of handicap parking but if you’re alone in a wheelchair you SOL. Perkins please give this serious...
