Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Vernon

Stopped by for a sweet treat. I came in for a gelati, which is a combination of Italian ice and custard. You are able to sample the Italian ice, but you can NOT sample the custard. There were Italian ice flavors up front and some in the back. As for custard, there were many flavors available: chocolate, vanilla, twist (chocolate & vanilla), coffee, salted caramel, pistachio, strawberry banana, strawberry, black raspberry, and cotton candy. It was a shame I was not able to sample the custard. I wanted to try something new, but I do not want to order something I don't like. In addition, there are topping options. Decent ice cream stuff but apparently it’s still 1994 and they expect all coupons printed out? Despite sending me the coupon electronically for a birthday.

Inconvenience of having to print the coupon in a world where everything is electronic aside, don’t they care about the environment? I thought that was supposed to be a big deal but here Rita’s is demanding an archaic printed coupon instead of the email they sent.

Either update your system to be able to cancel out used coupon IDs (like every other business) or just don’t send the coupon out. If you are trying to stay relevant in 2021 with this nonsense just give up and go lay down with Polaroid blockbuster and...

I’ve been a Rita’s fan since I can remember. Today I decided to visit a new location near my job and ordered the lemonade Italian Ice. This ice tasted like soap and smelled like mop water. This place needs to take better precautions in the way they make the Ices. Rita’s is a great place and cannot be ruined with people that don’t know how to follow instructions on how to make icees.
