I have been a customer of newks in Vestavia Hills for several years. I have never in my life received such poor customer service. the manager on duty was Brenda. She was very rude, inappropriate, unprofessional. And had the audacity to threaten me by saying she would call the police. If I did not leave when I requested the name and phone number of the manager owner and corporate. I ask for a Greek chicken salad dry tossed. And they gave me a salad that was not dry tossed with a big hunk of meat on it. At least 5 or 6 inches in length. When I asked if I could get another salad. Brenda proceeds to tell me that that is how the salad comes. I explained to her that I was just in there on Monday and that my salad was made to perfection. In the middle of my sentence, Brenda just walks away without saying hold on just a minute if she was going to help me if she was going to put me out if they were gonna make me a salad. I was at a complete loss. Brenda does not need a job. She does not need to be a manager. She probably just needs to stick to making salads and sandwiches and not deal with the public because she does not represent the newks that I am accustomed to. .. I am very disappointed, and vestavia has definitely lost a customer. .. I do hope management or corporate or someone reads my review. I was so very disappointed, and now I don't have any lunch after standing in there for over 30 minutes and not getting anything but a refund.. Shame on brenda she's a very poor manager just disgusting. Brenda is definitely bad for your business. You will lose more customers if she continues to be a manager. The cashier continued to apologize for the way. Brenda was acting because even the cashier knew she was inappropriate. I only gave 1 star 🌟 in order to give this review. Read moreI came in to the restaurant about 6pm Tuesday night to pick up a to go order (24 January). I was met by a young girl that snapped at me when I kindly asked her if the order she was carrying was mine. The order obviously wasn’t mine by her quick witted, rude comment, so I went outside to continue to wait. She was a bit busy with the register, and actually that’s where she was headed when I asked her if the food was mine. I’m not sure how long it took but I saw another young lady coming with a to go order so I went back in and asked her if that was mine and it was. I also asked what the girls name was at the register. The young girl was confrontational and loud. She said her name out loud and told me if I had a problem with her to come to her face. I tried very very hard to ignore her but she said it 3 more times before I could get past the line at the register. I simply told her that she may want to keep her job and stop trying to make me look bad. I had begun to get very angry myself and turned to find a manager. I found her cooking or preparing food. I was shaking mad. I’m 53 years old and respected my elders (still do) & I was also in customer service most my life. I just can’t imagine treating another person the way she chose to treat me that night. I can’t even remember her name I was so angry. I told the manager not to fire her. She needs anger management & retraining. She must know that not everyone would walk away from such confrontation. At some point in her young life she may come across somebody who won’t just walk away, I sure hope not. The time before the last time I went they forgot to make my food while I was waiting for a to-go order. I could tell by the reaction of the staff when I went and asked about it that they started making it right then. So I waited nearly an hour for pizza and a soup. The last time I went my pizza was made incorrectly. When I took it up to an employee she said "that is a veggie pizza"...which it did have only vegetables but was the completely wrong pizza. About that time the manager was walking by and asked what the issue was, I told him and he said "that is the veggie". 2x they tell me I'M WRONG. Need customer service training. So I told him what it was supposed to have on it and he said "ooh yeah, we'll make it and bring it to you". I showed him where I was sitting. After eating my soup my friends were about done so I went up and asked about my pizza. The manager said, "oh, it's right here. It's been done bit we couldn't find you.
