Blume & Flour — Restaurant in Victoria

An endearing little downtown bakery & coffee shop with a cozy atmosphere. They've got some very tasty treats, and I'm always excited to try out their creative drink options. However, the quality of the shop (and its rating) is weighed down by an ill-mannered barista.

I enjoy stopping by this place en route to the public library. It's conveniently located down the street! I've never been disappointed by their beverages. I like how they come up with themed rotating specialty drinks, it's a charming little twist that makes me excited to come back to see what other things they come up with.

I love their baked goods, particularly their scones. I always get a scone when I go here, you just can't go wrong. Warm, delicately sweet, and often infused with fruit, delicious. Love em.

The only area I feel this place comes short is its service. Most workers I've encountered there have been very friendly, and I appreciate their dedication & service. They make me feel like a person rather than a number. However, there's one barista who's pretty rude. No greeting you, no asking 'how may I help you' or anything within those lines, just a blank stare until you say something. And I encounter them so often, it really soils my experience.

I'm not looking to be treated like royalty. I don't expect to engage in a conversation. It's just nice to be greeted. Nice to not be stared at awkwardly until you say something. It's glaring, and especially in contrast to everyone else who are actually friendly. Employee etiquette is just that important.

That's the one thing holding this place back from being 5 Stars, and it's a shame, because everything (and everyone else) is lovely.

My biggest regret? We were so excited to dive into our cake & cookie order that I never took photos!

We were recommended to Blume & Flour by various friends for a 7th birthday party. Absolute top notch, immediate communication from the get-go! Within 15 minutes of me reaching out, we had our order placed!

A week before our party, we had a scheduling conflict that disrupted our inital pick-up time. These amazing individuals made sure our order was completed the day before, so we would have more than enough time to collect our goods! It was so very appreciated!

But the cherry on the cake (literally) was how they went out of their way to source & build a custom lego Minecraft topper! When I say my boy was over the moon and I shed a tear, I'm not exaggerating enough!

As beautiful as our order was, nothing compares to the TASTE! Even my veteran baker mom said she could never compare!

We were so incredibly impressed with the attentiveness, communication, timeliness, and of course, the products were absolutely heavenly!

Great little coffee shop in town! In my opinion it is much better than going to starbucks! I love their lattes, and my husband loves their non-coffee drinks. Their strawberry rose lemonade is great for hot summer days, too! The staff is also amazing and friendly! It also has a bakery, and everything I have tried has tasted great! Just a friendly reminder to those with nut allergies that they do have nut allergens present. The atomosphere is cozy and friendly. The bakery does a great job for custom orders for special occasions! I ordered a cake and cookies for my SIL's birthday and we were not disappointed! She loved the cake and the cookies were so cute! Everything was well made, tastes great and they made it super easy to explain and show them what I needed.
