I’ve come several times, and enjoy their ranch hand sirloin meal, the potatoes are delightful, and the asparagus is always cooked well! Last time I had this meal, it came without the butter and gravy on the potatoes? It wasn’t bad, just wasn’t expected! Now Brunch just started and I can tell by the lack of mimosas it’s been a success! And I would like to provide my 2 cents on the matter: Prices are very reasonable considering the economic circumstances around us, I had chicken and waffles and it was delightful! Very nice seasoned chicken tenders, my only input is I wish it were more palatable to enjoy with the waffles, which is where coconut flour popped into my head, and I bet with that tweak in flour, it would be delicious with the syrup and waffle. The hollandaise sauce is great on its own, and did not go with the meal, but again, coconut flour I think would transform the dish entirely. I will be back and bring friends to enjoy brunch in the future! Can’t wait to try the other...
Read moreFirst time to visit La Cantina downtown. We ordered Ceviche, Quesabirria, and a chicken/beef fajita mix. We got our food and realized that we only received chicken on our chicken/beef fajita mix plate and brought it to our servers attention and she agreed… yes, looks like y’all only received chicken. “I’ll let the kitchen know”. The manager/owner came to our table to “see if everything was okay”. She was actually seeing if our plate did or didn’t come with beef on it. When the server came back she informed us that the “manager/owner” decided that we did in fact get beef on our plate. That caught us by total surprise because the whole time we were wondering wether our not they’d bring the beef portion of our plate out and they never did..
I, for one, will not be going back, but maybe my friends will. Our server was great and we will always appreciate her. However, we did not appreciate the “manager/owner” questioning whether or not we actually got what...
Read moreVery nice decor. Large bar at the back. Stage up front. There is a balcony too that may have had a private party.
Our waitress was friendly, attentive and helpful.
We had skinny margaritas that were tasty - something nice without the sugar load.
Chips (warmed) and salsa were good - very mild salsa with a bit of oregano. I had a side salad that was elevated for a side salad: mixed greens and a ranch dressing that tasted house made. My wife had a Beef Fajita bowl that she enjoyed. I had the Pollo Boracho. I was expecting a cream sauce but it has a cheesiness to it - once I focused on the shrimp and mushrooms I enjoyed it but will probably not order it again.
We went on a Thursday and found that they have live music on Thursdays! Not only that, but the musician was good. We lingered for several songs after our meal but were too full to have another round. Will be back, probably on a...
