my brother and I dropped by earlier today to support DOCPACâs collaboration with Green Cow Creamery. we made sure the staff was informed of my brotherâs allergy right away and asked if it was present in the flavor he wanted. we were assured it was not. unfortunately, he had an allergic reaction during our 6-min drive home almost immediately after eating it. when I called to speak to someone, my concerns were quickly dismissed by the manager.
the only way the allergen could have come into contact with my brother is from the scoop or the ingredients of the ice cream he selected. my brotherâs was scooped after mine (which did have the allergen but I made sure he never touched my cup). if he touches the allergen, itâs thankfully only itchy skin (which he currently doesnât have). on the other hand, if he eats it, he gets a tingly mouth, his throat starts to swell and that is precisely what happened. thankfully we had benadryl and an epi pen available.
when i called, i wasnât looking for compensation, or some big apology. i was understandably frantic and upset as we were actively experiencing a reaction that should have been prevented. iâm just concerned about their sanitizing practices and quite frankly, disappointed in how they responded. how else is he having a reaction if the only thing heâs eaten that could have caused it is the ice cream he was JUST served?
if you have an allergy, please be careful as the way they sanitize may not be sufficient to prevent cross contamination. you are your best advocate. this review is not intended to prevent business, but rather to be informative and to urge anyone with allergies to maybe ask for extra sanitization...

As we didn't see it at first and were going to drive to Cuero. They don't mind giving you free samples and they are all very good, and home made. Any extra ingredients like cheesecake, strawberries, etc, are very fresh. Every single flavor we tried was excellent, whether it was basic or mixed. Nice service, reasonable cost. $6 for 2 very large scoops. They also have some adult flavors that actually have alcohol, today's was White Russian and it was tasty. The Banana Pudding ,Red Resberry white chocolate, and strawberry cheesecake were also all quite good. Definitely recommend trying it! Will be back!
Also, if you're in Victoria try my favorite dinner spot, the...
