Raven’s Family Dining — Restaurant in Victoria

A coworker and I decided to check out this local hole-in-the-wall after hearing from other coworkers how great this place was. The outside of what used to be an old house turned eatery needs a lot of attention.

Stepping inside the quaint neighborhood restaurant you can see they've tried to keep the place clean and maintained; kitschy wall adornments and all. The staff are kind and helpful and work double duty behind the register and serving tables. One look at the tiny salad bar and you can see they use fresh ingredients but limit your choices for a salad bar experience; nothing extraordinary here.

The food didn't take long to come out which helped when trying to have a quick lunch. The food came out hot, but nothing spectacular here. My biggest complaint would be that the food was underseasoned. This is pretty typical of local restaurants as they either don't taste their food to check for seasoning or they cater to the local bland palate; your guess is as good as mine.

It was good, but nothing to say "I have to come back as soon as I can" and rather more of the typical status quo of Victoria. Would we go back again, probably, but it wouldn't be our first choice.

Also, I noticed that on my trip back to the soda fountain that the machine and ice dispenser had not been cleaned in a while. Thoughts of Marvin Zindler and his famous catch phrase "There's slime in the ice machine" came to mind.

Honestly, the place needs some TLC and the staff needs to take care of a few odds and ends in the sanitary department but the restaurant isn't bad,...

JUST IN TIME! Me and my fiance were hungry and googled somewhere near. Were new to Victoria. Noticed Raven's and the time it closes which it closes at 9pm. Luckly we were only a minute away. Arriving about 8:15pm.

We ordered and asked to take home because I do not like staying past restaurants closing time. I like employees to get out on time and enjoy their rest of their day.

I believe the woman behind the register was the owner. She was so kind enough to have us stay and enjoy our meals.

I Love their burgers! When our waiter handed our burgers... The first bite was sooo GOOD! I Loved the toasted buns! It is what made it extra good! Soooooo very good! Thank You!

Terrible experience. Checked hours of operation online and it said they closed at 11 pm (it was around 9:30 pm) Got there and it looked empty so I walked inside first to double check before I got my 1 year old out of the car. The sign on the door said they close at 11 and the employee I spoke to confirmed that they close at 11. I told him I planned to eat there and that I would go get the rest of my family from the car.
