Casa Jalisco, located in the heart of Victoria, Texas, is a hidden gem that serves delicious Mexican cuisine. My wife and I recently visited the restaurant for breakfast, and we were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food and the welcoming atmosphere.
I ordered the chicharon bacon egg and cheese taco, which was a mouthwatering combination of crispy chicharon (deep-fried pork rinds), juicy bacon, scrambled eggs, and melted cheese, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with the smoky bacon and spicy chicharon adding a satisfying depth to the dish. The tortillas were freshly made and had a delightful texture that complemented the filling perfectly.
My son, who is a picky eater, opted for the sausage egg and cheese taco, which was equally impressive. The sausage was seasoned to perfection, with a nice snap to the casing and a flavorful, spicy kick. The eggs were cooked to his liking, and the melted cheese added a creamy richness to the dish.
One of the standout aspects of our meal was the salsa, which was freshly made and had a delightful tanginess that complemented the flavors of the tacos perfectly. We also appreciated the attentive service and the cleanliness of the restaurant, which was evident in every aspect of our dining experience.
However, we did notice one minor drawback: a slight sewer gas smell in the bathroom. As a plumber, I understand that this can be a common issue in older buildings, and it's not uncommon for restaurants to experience this from time to time. However, I would suggest that the restaurant address this issue as soon as possible to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of their customers.
In conclusion, our experience at Casa Jalisco was exceptional, and we would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Mexican cuisine in the Victoria area. The food was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared, and the service was attentive and friendly. While the sewer gas smell in the bathroom was a minor drawback, it did not detract from our overall enjoyment...
Read moreI've been to this establishment several times and it never fails I get terrible service every time I come. After visiting this restaurant today I'm almost sure it's definitely a race issue. I sat down today and told the hostess what I wanted to drink after she asked me. After about 10 minutes of waiting another couple walks in Hispanic heritage and was greeted and given their drinks and chips. They had just walked in and I was sitting there for almost 10 minutes still waiting for my drink. I am a pretty easy customer! I usually get the same 2 dishes and don't really bother the servers for anything extra. I never see anyone of management walking around except a little young boy that has no managerial skills. After today I will not be coming back to this place ever again. I will take my business elsewhere and will tell everyone I know about the kind of service you will receive here if you're anything other than the Hispanic heritage. This place will never get my money or business again!!! UPDATE: THE TABLE THAT ENDED UP WALKING IN ABOUT 10 MINUTES AFTER ME ENDED UP GETTING THEIR FOOD BEFORE ME SO I'M EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED AND WHEN THEY FINALLY BROUGHT ME MY FOOD I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER THE WAITRESS VICTORIA SAID THERE'S ISN'T A MANAGER AVAILABLE TODAY. THE MANAGER TOOK OFF TODAY. WHAT?!? IS THIS A JOKE?!? I'VE NEVER BEEN ANYWHERE THERE'S NOT AT LEAST AN ASSISTANT MANAGER AVAILABLE IN CASE THERE IS A PROBLEM. THE HOSTESS WAS JUST STARING AT ME THE WHOLE TIME WHILE I WAS IN THERE UNTIL I FINALLY ASKED HER IF SHE HAD A PROBLEM. SHE KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND THAT'S WHY IT TOOK SO LONG TO GET MY DRINK BC SHE HAD THE PROBLEM. NEEDLESS TO SAY TODAY WAS THE LAST TIME I'LL BE EATING THERE. WHEN THEY FINALLY BROUGHT MY FOOD I LEFT IT RIGHT THERE AND DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH IT! I WILL ADVISE SO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU ARE OFF ANY OTHER RACE OTHER THAN THE HISPANIC...
Read moreWent here for a company Christmas dinner and was very disappointed with the quality of food. The beans were bland. The tortillas weren’t homemade, the server did tell us that but I bought better tortillas from HEB. The fajita plate had more onions than meat and tasted like it was baked in the oven instead of on a grill. The guacamole tasted like it came out of a bag. Then to top it off it was served with French fries. It was way overpriced. $3.50 for a soda. I do need to give credit to the server Angelica, name on ticket, for doing an outstanding job for a party of 30. Drinks came out quickly and the food came out close together so that we were all eating together. Only a couple of mistakes with food missing but it was corrected quickly. She was polite and made several check backs for refills and if everything was good. I would not recommend this place because of price and poor food quality. I also don’t like that they added gratuity. That should be the customers choice based on...
