Diamond Panda — Restaurant in Victorville

This is one of my favorite Chinese fast good places up here in the High Desert (Victorville/Adelanto area). The best thing about this place is the portions - they are definitely not stingy with the food! They even include a free egg flower soup (in place of fortune cookie) with the combo plates. I usually always get the fried rice, chow mein, and beef & broccoli, and it’s been fresh the times I have gone. However. I once went near closing time and they had limited availability of certain things. I have also gotten the chicken wings, garlic chicken, cream cheese wontons, and pork dumpling gyoza, and all were pretty good. My only minor complaint is that, especially after reading some of others’ reviews, can agree the food (or at least the fried rice and chow mein) does tend to lack flavor. It doesn’t taste terrible, but feel it could use some more flavor. The chicken wings also tend to have what seems to be remnants of broken pieces of bone on them because although they are delicious (honestly my favorite dish from here) they aren’t pleasant to eat when it’s feels like you’re also biting down on sand granules here and there. I was excited to try this place out due to the 4 star rating. I'm convinced Victorville people don't know good chinese food because it was not good at all. I couldn't finish it because I really didn't enjoy it. It was all extremely dry. The chow mein, dry. Orange chicken, dry. The beef i got wasn't but the flavor lacked big time.

It seems they get busy because I saw 5 workers when we walked in. There was a guy, maybe the owner, poking over two of the girl's shoulders. It was apparent he was unhappy that they were chit chatting. Seeing that was a big turn off, especially since my fiance and I were already being attended. I get it, they are there to work, but what good is it if you can't talk with your coworkers here and there? Who knows, maybe they aren't good workers, idk, but I hate seeing micromanaging.

I wanted so badly to leave a good review as the people were very nice the place was spotless and packed with customers, but my husband and my son both got SICK!! Food poisoning and the only thing they both ate was the chowmein. I also ate there but I got white rice which I didn't eat as they gave me such a large portion of the Hot Chicken. My husband had the teriyaki chicken with chowmein and my son had the orange chicken with chowmein. I watched them being out freshly cooked proteins while waiting in line to order but never did I see freshly cooked fried rice or chowmein but I didn't think anything. My husband woke up sick and in pain in the wee hours of the morning and had to take the day off of work due to the cramping, diarrhea and vomiting.
