This is a review for those with gluten sensitivities and need a gluten free diet. Those with Celiac's disease probably can't eat here due to potential contamination (like most places.) On to the review.
Avoid this place and all IHOPs (for now) if you require a gluten free diet. I had IHOPs gluten free pancakes about a month ago at another location and they were delicious! I ate a whole stack they were that good. Found nothing wrong. However, I went to this location a week ago and now they were "sold out" which is funny considering they are a pancake house. I put in my feedback and I guess the manager of the place got back to me. She told me corporate pulled the GF pancakes because of a few complaints so now they are adjusting the recipe. She didn't exactly address the other issues I complained about so I will post about it here. No pancakes? Fine, that leaves us GF people 2 options. A pesto omelette, and a salad which you probably don't want for breakfast. Let's conquer the GF salad. If you decide to get one, bring your own dressing. From wait I was told by the waiter, all dressings they have are not gluten free. Unless you want to eat your salad plain (I don't), you are left with 1 option, the pesto omelette. (For those who need a gluten free diet, you can't get a regular omelette because they stick their gluten filled pancakes batter into the egg mixture to make it fluffy.) The good thing about the pesto omelette is the pesto itself. It's delicious and flavorful. Everything else was mediocre and bland. There isn't enough pesto on the omelette so it's missing a lot of flavor. The tomatoes were slightly tangy. It needs to be substituted with sun dried tomatoes. All you get is a dime sized smear of pesto in a ton of eggs and a single line drizzle on top. Overall, it was a very poor dining experience and I wouldn't recommend coming here if you have gluten free dietary restrictions until those pancakes are back. Probably best to get the GF Bisquick pancake box as a substitute for pancake cravings.
I hope this review helps those who are on gluten free diets. It's a challenge, that I know well of. Once the gluten free pancakes are back I will go and try them for a proper review. Until then, I unfortunately have to be the bearer of a...
Read moreThis was my third visit to this location, all three times I ordered online to pickup in store. Can't comment on food or service for this visit as after placing my order and arriving at the location they were closed (it was during normally business hours). The first time the same thing happened, but seeing as how it was a holiday I assumed the website didn't update to reflect the correct business hours or shutoff online ordering. This is why the second visit, because after placing the first order my husband and I were both wanting IHOP pancakes. When we went back the next business day we had to go in to pay, as you can't pay online for this location. The hostess was very nice and apologized for the website order from the day prior. The food was as I expected, IHOP was a weekend treat as a little girl. Unfortunately my rating reflects my last experience which was not existent. After looking forward to picking up my custom omelette and pancakes, we arrived to dark restaurant in the evening with a small handwritten sign that said they were closed. I understand that Covid has hit business very hard, but I know computer programming and it is not difficult to reflect this online to save costumers the time and gas, esp allowing online orders, to find out the location is closed when you...
Read moreThis place is absolute garbage. I ordered chicken and waffles, i waited about 10 minutes so i already knew i was going to be disappointed to begin with. These chicken tenders were a minuscule size and tasted like they were pulled out of a freezer pack i buy at winco. The waffles were sub-par and my friend had ordered pancakes which were made with the consistency of soggy bread. He picked it up with a fork and it split in half horizontally. I tried the pancakes for myself to see if it would live up to the expectation of being a pancake place. It was disgraceful and a menace to breakfast and pancake diners. I would not even feed this disgrace to my dogs. The amount of disrespect i feel towards me as a food reviewer and a customer is immense and I will not come back to this establishment ever again until they realize what they are doing to our society. This is why people’s expectations for victorville are so low and they are just adding on to this stereotype. EDIT My friend ordered pancakes to go and the texture on the outside of the pancake looked the same texture as an ashy persons hand. The plate he ordered them on weren’t even clean as well, the bottom of it was dirty and unsanitary. I would rate this place 0 stars if i...
