My mind was scrambled eggs. Dusty from the road less traveled and a little worn for wear. I need to clean my boots. A sign. Tokyo, like the city, Glowing in the dusk of polluted desert skies along a busy street 2 hours from nowhere. Dining alone I walked to the bar, may I was in order. “Ichiban, tall.” The chef, Kazu, careful not to be seen in his quick study of customers, cleaning the skin from a salmon filet, sharp is his knife, asks if I’m ready. I order off the menu, otoro and uni sushi. “If you have it.” He does. It’s glorious. I ask for a plate of sashimi, his choice, “I like everything from tamago to saba” indicating my adventurous side despite my American heritage. Again he obliges. Textures, flavors, chile, wasabi, playing with my senses so delightful. Im floating now in the ether, buying a beer for the chef which he opens to a cheers, the universal language on a plate, a shared emotion, his love for craft apparent. I almost forgot my jacket by the time I cleared my plate. I never the question the price of the experience, as it is priceless. And this man, in this place, at this time in my life is worth every single penny. 2 thumbs up, a cheers and an applause. Thank you chef. Thank you. “In a little hilltop village, They gambled for my clothes, I bargained for salvation, And she gave me a lethal dose, I offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn, Come on she said will give ya, Shelter from the storm.” - Bob Dylan

Had a great dining experience at Tokyo Sushi last night. The place was at about capacity when we arrived but only waited a few minutes to be seated. The wait staff was very courteous and attentive and had our drinks and appetizers out quickly. We had the heart attack (jalapeno poppers with spicy tuna), mixed tempura (shrimp and veggie) and miso soup, all absolutely delicious. We ordered the Fire Ring, Baja Roll, Route 66 Roll, and Spicy Korean Pork. The first thing I noticed was the small amount of rice each roll had vs ingredients, a very pleasant surprise. This allowed the flavors of the rolls to stand out along with the delicious sauces each roll had. The Spicy Korean Pork stole the show. It was an item my son ordered as he is new to sushi restaurants and was playing it safe. The pork was melt in your mouth soft and seasoned with enough heat to justify the name. Overall it was a great dinner and definitely worth several return trips to work through their menu. Thank you Tokyo Sushi for a great night.

It is a nice Japanese restaurant, located in Victorville. Of course, it is located not in the nicest area of Victorville. Nevertheless, the meals, that I did order, were delicious. At the same time, the staff, who worked during my visit, were helpful and attentive. The place, too, was neat, and there was ample of space, to sit down, and enjoy ordered meals. Of course, pricewise, it is not a cheap establishment, and when ordering several sushi meals, prices do add up. Thus, I would recommend a visit to this place, only when discretionary funds are available. Still, a lot might have changed, from my last visit in June of 2023.

My review can be dated, since the last time, I have visited this restaurant was in June of 2023, while visiting my relatives in High Desert. I was doing some errands in the area. While doing those errands, I became hungry, and decided to have my lunch in this establishment. Since I came here during the lunch period, in the middle of the week, there was ample of space to sit down, and enjoy a meal. At the same time, there was no waiting period. The meals, that I have ordered, were delicious. At the same time, they were well prepared. Since, I was sitting near the counter, I could see how my food was well prepared. Furthermore, the waitress, who attended me, was helpful and attentive. However, the meals, that I have ordered, did add up. So, if anyone wants to order a lot. I would recommend to visit this establishment, if discretionary funds are available, or has a good credit card. Overall, my lunch was good, and if I am in the area again, with discretionary funds, I would definitely visit this restaurant. The service, in itself, is...

This is not a feedbag "All You Can Eat" sushi mill, if you are looking for that type of dining experience, look elsewhere.

Tokyo Sushi is a Japanese restaurant that has HOT, well balanced miso soup, house made salad dressings, entrees made to order that come out piping hot and fresh, and a respectable nigiri sushi selection with a special sushi board that included sweet shrimp, uni, and chutoro the day I was there. The iced tea is fresh brewed and brought to your table ICE COLD, it is refilled with a new glass with fresh ice, not topped off from an acid collecting plastic pitcher like you were at Denny's. The waiting staff is attentive and polite. The tables are not sticky, wobbly, and small. The tables are clean and adult sized.

This level of quality comes at an appropriate price, it is worth every penny in my opinion.

Again, this is not a place for drunk college students that want to do "sake bombs", listen to techno, and fill themselves with convenience store grade sushi. Other places in town already have that...
