Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Vidalia

I had the worst experience here! I had just recently returned home from college, and wanted to enjoy a nice lunch with my friend whom also dined here numerous times with me throughout our high school career. Only to see that customer service was no longer and priority here! The food was VERY bland as if they hadn't used any flavor, my waiter was decent, but the horror came when it was time to cash out. It wasn't until after the cashier had swiped my card three times before he informed me that their machine was down, he then swiped two more times before I had informed him that if all these transactions showed up on my account that I would be upset, so I stopped him! He then informed the manager and he brought out some old machine to where he somehow imprinted my card information, I informed him that I wanted a copy to have for my personal records because I was sure that I was going to have to contact my local bank. He tried to persuade me otherwise, but I remained firm in wanting my receipt , he then ripped it into shreds in front of my face even after I told him to stop. After that I no longer allowed them to swipe my card. He then informed us that , he would be calling the cops as if that was suppose to scare us. My friend and I told him that would be fine, and asked did he mind if we sat in the waiting area. He claimed he didn't, but we could tell that he was bent out of shape! Nevertheless the cop showed up and asked for his side first, which he completely lied about! Therefore when it was our turn we corrected his lies, and instructed that since the restaurant was at fault and very unprofessional we shouldn't have to pay . Keep in mind the bill for both of us was no more than $25, the cop was very little help as well. He was telling us how he was a few months out from retirement and please help him. By now everyone is irritated , and the manager then tells us that we can leave without paying just never come back again as if we were being disruptive during the process. Being that I have experience as a server, I can assure you that is not how the process was suppose to go! I would never spend my money there again and advise you all not to either! I was humiliated and accused after being given the wrong food and having to drive all the way back to the restaurant. There’s Terrible costumer service, so bad the man sat and argued with me and accused me of eating the wrong food he gave me. I called and placed my order over the phone I ordered steak and shrimp fajitas w/ an extra side of rice along with a full order of beef nachos and a side of green salsa. I go to pick up my food and get all the way home then notice that in my plate there was chicken fajitas instead of steak&shrimp they also forgot my extra rice . I don’t have a problem with someone making a mistake, we’re only human ! What I have a problem with is when I get there I sit in the drive through for 10 minutes without being seen ( it was not busy I was the only one in the drive through) I call them and he says he’s coming hands me a bag with the correct steak and shrimp then leaves the window I’m checking the bag noticing that he forgot my rice again. I have to wait and call the store again . Another boy comes and refuses to give me my rice because he says I ate my shrimp out of the chicken fajitas. I tell him I didn’t and he literally argues with me in the drive through and embarrassed me in front of his other co-workers. I was extremely humiliated and accused of something I did not do. I will never be going back and I do not recommend...

Well for starters my husband and i and some friends came to enjoy a nice dinner together to have a good relaxing time and it was all going well. Food was great, good conversation, and it was about time to go. One of my friends told them it was my bday which was not a problem thinking you know the usual singing and some kind of desert just to try to embarrass me and have some fun. Well not only did that happen but also i and my friends got an unexpected surprise they also brought whip cream on a napkin and put it in my face! I was not expecting this! Neither were they. Now im all for jokes and fun but just for future reference maybe the staff should ask if its ok to do this to someone before doing it bc everyone wouldnt be as calm as i was(and wasnt completely calm) im sure! Everyone had a laugh but at my expense. Now im over it somewhat but not before i thought my friends had something to do with it and was ready to give payback. So if you go to Rio Grande in Vidalia, Ga be prepared if you have any bday requests, the joke could be on you. So ill leave it at the saying what goes around,...
