Disappointing Experience at Cheddar’s
My wife and I recently decided to have dinner at Cheddar’s for the first time in quite a while. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired.
From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, it was clear that the facility has been suffering from a serious lack of maintenance. There were tall weeds growing up throughout the lot, and the landscaping looked neglected. The building itself had loose wooden shakes on the roof, further reflecting the overall decline in upkeep.
Inside, things didn’t improve much. The air conditioning was clearly out of service, with multiple portable units set up throughout the dining area and hoses running across the floor — a poor substitute for a proper fix. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, and the condition of the interior matched the worn-out appearance of the exterior.
Sadly, the food quality has also taken a turn for the worse. What was once a reliable spot for a good meal has now become underwhelming. The dishes lacked freshness and flavor, and it was obvious standards have dropped.
The one bright spot in our visit was our server, Chris (if I recall the name correctly). He was courteous, attentive, and handled his responsibilities well — a true professional in an otherwise disappointing experience.

Read moreEnded up sick on my birthday from here. Our waitress even made a joke about salmonella Sunday when ordering the chicken. In midst of letting the restaurant manager know I called back to do a follow up and the take out girl puts me on hold 3 times to go look for this one manager meanwhile I'm on hold 19 mins with coming after few mins 3 times saying idk why she isn't answering ill go see what she's doing. And on the 3rd time I'm like what's going on and she's goes ughhhh idk here some customer wants to talk to you and some lady answers and says she's the manager. I asked to her to speak with the other manager who had spoken with me before and she tells me. Oh they are off work today. Ok so first off you've wasted 20 mins plus of my time on hold for someone who isn't there and that this employee supposedly is looking for but my question is now... how does she not know what manager is working on her shift???? 😳 No team meetings before shifts? Where is the communication?? I don't think I can ever go there again. They gave me a 40 dollar gift card for all of this. As if that was remotely close to compensating what I've gone through there. Read moreThis was our first visit to Cheddar's. I wasn't sure what to expect, but we had a very nice experience. It was a Friday during lunchtime, and there was a bit of chatter noise from other guests, and a very unhappy baby, but that isn't the fault of the restaurant. From the feisty hostess who seated us, to our server Leslie, it was a great experience. My spouse had grilled chicken and shrimp, and I had grilled whitefish blackened, and we really enjoyed the flavors. The menu had familiar options like burgers, but also dishes like those we selected, things we don't tend to see on menus. I tasted the sauce that came with the grilled chicken and shrimp, and I promise there are hints of molasses, yum! My dish was great. I recommend the beans and rice side dish, especially if you like ham and beans, that flavor is right there. I didn't think to take pictures, but everything looked appetizing and was good temperature.
