Updated 05/16/2024: After enjoying the food and amazing service for several years, I have to lower my rating, after today's experience. The service is always great and was today. But, our sweet server had to return to the table after placing our order to say the kitchen isn't making any alterations to orders, today. Huh? What? The grumpy cook in the kitchen can't hold the lettuce and tomato on my sliders nor the cream cheese on the side (for my lactose sensitive friend) on a sandwich. How difficult is it to omit something?! If I had asked for something to be cooked differently or modified drastically, I get it. But heck, I was saving them money by not getting items that would be tossed off my sliders. Yes, I know it's only pennies, but still. Well since you were grumpy, I thought the truth should come out. The greens tasted weird, as my other friend took one bite and only one bite. The crowder peas were bland, always have been. It's why I avoid ordering them. My other friend took one and only one bite. The food quality is slipping and so is our desire to return. We've removed your place from our Friday office spinner and will probably not return for some time.
If this is how you want to manage your restaurant, that is your choice. And it's my choice to spend my dollars somewhere that's heart is still in providing quality tasty food without an attitude and willing to make slight adjustments to satisfy the customer.
Old post: The is hidden gem! Enjoyed my first meal of what I expect to be many meals to come. You can tell the food is prepared with care and heart. I'd be surprised if the cream corn was not on the cobb earlier that day. The menu had a good variety of selections at a fair price. The service was great, felt like we were at home, part of...

If you live in the area and don’t want to drive far to go get some decent food without having to go through the hassle of cooking and washing the dishes, this spot is the one.
I ordered the country fried steak with white gravy, mash potatoes with brown gravy, mac and cheese,(Ran out of corn bread = Good Corn Bread) And some “Lumpia that had only spinach and cheese in it” As a Filipino, man that was disappointing. All that for $32.02 with 20% tip
In my humble opinion, if you want to make an extra drive to go elsewhere for even better food go for it. I thought the food I order was okay. It wasn’t bad. It was decent. There was nothing special about it. I didn’t feel any love or passion behind them making the food. It’s kind of like going to the cafeteria on your lunch break. This isn’t a place I would invite or brag about to my friends like, “hey guys let’s go to Chat & Choo to eat on your birthday” it’s more like, “alright we don’t have much of a choice this place is good enough and it’s right around the corner”. I hope that didn’t sound mean or hurt anyone’s feelings I am just 1 person who is expressing my thoughts from my own experience.
Overall, the service was good. People were kind, friendly, the environment was very nice & it was a...
Read moreI have really wanted to like this place. Local mom and pop restaurants are few and far between around here. But I've now given up on the Chat & Choo.
Today my wife got the grilled chicken with peaches and it was terrible. The flatten chicken breast was cooked through but totally white like it hadn't been anywhere near a grill and the peaches were some kind of overly sweet and nasty peach concoction. Yuck! Even when we spooned off the peach stuff and tasted the chicken by itself, it had no flavor at all.
But here's the very worse part. The staff is nice but no one ever asks if everything is OK. Our waitress picked up my wife's plate and surely saw that hardly anything was touch but never questioned whether there was a problem. And when I went to pay no one asked me if we enjoyed our meal. I guess there afraid someone will ask them to make it right.
I really, really wanted to like this place but we're done....
