Hong Kong Gourmet — Restaurant in Vineland

Been going down hill. I really liked this store for a bit. It became very noticeable that the quality of the food has went down severely and matches the attitude the lady that takes the food orders and money at the front. Several times the chicken wings appeared and taste as if it was frozen and dropped in oil that has not heated up enough . You can see it on the skin of the chicken wings. And this has been a consistent practice by this store. The lady's (manager) attitude on the phone is very intolerable. She doesn't like to tell you how much your order is or how much time it will take unless you deliberately ask. She will hang up on you immediately after she takes the order. A few times I brought food there and my car stank . Really stink my car up, scent coming from the oil they cooked their food in. I needed to be done with Chinese food for a very long time. And this was the motivation I needed.

On the other hand , the best and still the best Chinese food I ever had no matter what state I was in, will always be "Yummy " in irvington near the IHOP. Not the one across the bus terminal by thr same name. There is barely any good Chinese...

Will not be ordering again. Half my order is missing! and I am still waiting for replacements. at 6:13 we ordered a meal. Steam Dumplings, Wonton Soup, Chicken with Chinese Veg (of witch the rice is missing), Combo order of General Tos Chicken (of witch was not delivered in its place was General Tos Shrimp, arrived without sauce and with out its egg roll) Combo Mango Chicken (Again the Egg Roll was not in the bag). The half of our order arrived at 7:13 at 7:19 I called to report my missing food. It is now 8, I am hungry and highly disappointed in the food we did get.

UPDATE: Called back at 8:00 asking about where my food I was missing was. Was given back talk about they got busy, and "We'll give you a free meal next time.' (means nothing as we aren't going back.) March 5th, 1992 I placed an order with Kung Food in Southern NJ. It was my first experience with Chinese Food. Since then I have been a regular consumer of the product, some would even argue that my love of the cuisine makes me an expert level critic. Over the years I have tasted the good the bad and the ugly. Fast forward to today, May 3rd, 2023. I placed an order at Hong Kong Gourmet for chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce. It's been a long time since food brought a smile to my face, but by golly did the good folks at HKG turn my Wednesday frown upside down. By far the best I've ever had....Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!...
