Place has potential. Atmosphere is the best part. Food is great when the actual OWNERS of the place makes it. The employees don't have the same touch. It is also just too expensive. Also I wish the actual owners would read this and understand that reason we and several others we know don't like coming here is because they like to record live or snippets of videos too much and post them up. I understand they want to show off their place but here's the thing, people don't want to be seen eating and don't want to be recorded. It is very very offensive and needs to be taken in consideration. If you want to record the live band, sure but not your customers please. Highly disrespectful and very uncomfortable. So please do NOT RECORD your customers. It is a very rude thing to do. Thank you.
I tried to reply to your response but couldn't so I am adding here again.. Thank you for looking into this but I feel you guys are not taking it into consideration. After I posted this review, you guys STILL record people eating!! Please DON'T keep doing that unless you ask them because it is HIGHLY offensive and quite frankly very disrespectful. The entertainment part is understanding, so JUST RECORD THEM! Not rocket science. As for the negative reviews, maybe many have not posted but many that I know have given me negative complaints. Food takes too long to cook, way too expensive. Every cook doesn't cook it exactly the same next time we went there. And the main one which is recording your customers while eating etc. Please take serious consideration of all this. Don't just reply with this is our first negative review or we hardly have any cause that is a false statement. Or reply we have lots of more line ups of entertainment..that's good. Just record them....
Read moreThis is probably the longest review I’ll ever write so brace yourself. Words can’t describe the deliciousness I just experienced with my shrimp po boy! I just finished it and had to leave this review asap! I’m from DC so I’ve visited tons of vegan restaurants across the DMV and east coast, but Vegans Are Us is now at the TOP of my list! I ordered for the first time through Grub Hub last night and had the bbq jackfruit sandwich w/waffle fries. My sandwich was sooo flavorful, & cooked perfectly! Plus, the portion size was great. So, I decided to go visit the restaurant to dine in today and ordered the french toast & home fries. The french toast was DELICIOUS🤤😋 If you are contemplating, please try it. I couldn’t believe it was vegan. I was speechless after taking my first bite. Then, when I bit into the home fries - that deliciousness touched my soul! They were similar to grandma’s fried potatoes & onions I ate as a child. Sooo good. The lady at the front was very courteous. The chef was right there towards the middle cooking, which I thought was dope, to be able to see him there cooking the food. The dining area is very small and quaint. It’s a whole vibe. The music was on point! 🔥🔥
So, I decided to order food to go and that’s when I ordered the shrimp po boy. I felt like I was in New Orleans because it was so flavorful. It’s a little spicy, and all of the flavors with the shrimp & chipotle mayo sauce tastes so good. I’m blown away because in the past 24 hours I’ve had 3 different meals from this restaurant and ALL of them were delicious.😋 I ate them too fast to remember to snap pics of everything lol. I’ll definitely be back to AC for more. We need your restaurant in the DMV...
Read moreMy husband and I are always looking for new vegan/vegetarian places to try and we read nothing but good reviews about Vegans Are Us, so we took the 40min drive to try it out. Was NOT impressed. Seat yourself, no paper menus so you have to scan a barcode on your phone, the less than enthused waitress (who never gave a smile or her name) did come over right away to take our order… and 48mins later she brought our food out. The place was not crowded at all, maybe 2 other couples were in dining. Nothing to cause that long of a wait, for the subpar food that was finally brought out. I got a veggie burger (tasted frozen not freshly made), sweet potato fries (all were burnt), and soul slaw. That was good but needed salt n pepper. My husband got a philly cheesesteak (whole size) fries and soul slaw. There was barely any “meat” on it and for $18.99 you would think it’d be packed. He got the wiz on the side that was made in-house and was very tasty. My husband, although highly annoyed at the long wait and portion side, said his food was delicious. Mine was just ok. Totally not worth $60 or the drive and I had to make something to eat for us when we got home bc we weren’t full at all. Nothing to write home about and would not go back. I gave a 3 star because my husband did like his food and parking...
