La Vita Restaurant — Restaurant in Vineland

This was my first time at this establishment. I've heard mixed reviews so decided to try it for myself. First let me start with the atmosphere: They did a beautiful job with the decor. Comfortable tables, beautiful colors, low light.. etc. I was pleasantly suprised to see a salad bar, most places I dine at don't have them. Wide variety of items on the salad bar. They had the usual iceberg and romaine lettuces, cucumber, egg, tomatoe..etc but also had a variety of cold salads. The potato salad I didnt care for but the eggplant was delicious. I ordered seafood supreme, which is shrimp, scallops and crabmeat over pasta in an Alfredo sauce. The Alfredo sauce was delicious, however the shrimp had a horrible taste, I think they had gone bad, the scallops were rubbery in texture. Needless to say, in the middle of the night I got sick and lived off of buttered toast and ginger ale for the next 24 hours. If I dine at La Vita again, I will not be ordering seafood. The waitress was pleasant and the atmosphere seemed good. But I ordered a personal primavera pizza and it had a strange taste to the sauce very bland and sour tasting. I had a friend from my table taste it to see what they thought and said the same thing. Asked the waitress for the manager and she came over to the table and fought with me about how it’s a number one pizza and that I shouldn’t even be able to taste the the sauce. Because it was a personal pizza and I ate most of it she would only take a percentage off. I told her I ate one slice and it was hard to swallow, didn’t want to spit food out in a restaurant so I ate it. She then goes to goes to state she watched me while I ate and seen I had a few slices. I told her that was disturbing to hear she watched me eat my food and that this is not how you run a business. Went last Sunday night with the fiance to order ribeye steak and stuffed flounder. I ordered my ribeye steak medium and it came out well done. It was like a piece of shoe leather. Tastes more like a shank steak than a ribeye. My fiance ordered stuff flounder which was undercooked, and was nearly raw in the center?? Good way to make somebody sick giving them raw seafood. She had to take it home and re-cook it the next day. I was so hungry. I didn't even want to turn it back and complain, I just ate it. You think they would at least offered me a free dessert or something for my ribeye being one of the worst steaks I've ever had?!?! Didn't even offer that? he green beans and potatoes were just okay. Nothing to write home about. I can make them at home better myself. Very disappointing for the money we spent. And there was literally no air conditioning.
