Tootsie's Ice Cream & More — Restaurant in Vinton

My sister took us out for ice cream on Father's day so we went to Tootsie's in Vinton. Instead of working from the top of the list they started at the bottom so instead of the kids getting theirs first, my sister got hers and hers was the last on the list. We had been waiting for 15 minutes and we had only gotten 2 out of the 5 ice creams we ordered. I went to go inside and say something but they had shut the lights off and shut down for the Party in the Park parade. I caught them all before they tried to leave and said that we hadn't gotten the rest of our order. They knew exactly what they were doing because they rattled off the 3 ice creams we were still missing. The one kid looked genuinely embarrassed and the girl in the purple sweatshirt gave us a dirty look and scoffed when I said next time do your job and make sure you finish an entire order before you try and leave. My sister spent almost $20 and they basically tried to steal her money by not giving us the rest of our order. Very poor customer service and very poor management. It was so much better when Leon owned it. He at least cared enough to make sure everybody got their complete order before shutting down...

We used to enjoy eating broasted chicken from this restaurant. The last year or so the quality has gotten pretty bad, unlike what they state on their page as using quality ingredients. We purchased a 16 piece meal which is a bit pricey but that’s what we need to feed our family. Upon opening our food when we got home the outside breading of the chicken was very dark. The pieces themselves have shrunk to about half the size they used to be. I always eat dark meat and the legs might have had a bite on each of them, wings meat non-existent, not to mention ALL the pieces were dry and chewy on the inside. Broasted chicken is supposed to be crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. This is absolutely the WORST broasted chicken I’ve eaten in my life. When we first came to tootsies a couple years it was great all around. Great food great customer service but lately it's been a completely different story. The time before last the food was a complete waste of money besides the malts and shakes. Then yesterday we were treated like we were in the way just by stopping into the vinton location. The lady acted like they were to busy even to take our order then came the dreaded wait and by wait I mean almost thirty minutes on the ice cream and almost 45 on the food! The wife ordered chicken tenders that were burnt on the outside to the point where she had to take breading off and the chicken was cold on the inside. Then her fries and my sweet potato fries were completely burnt. Hopefully this 2 week shutdown will...
