This is strictly about one of their products. It’s their Matcha Latte. Please, genuinely, don’t be fooled. Do not get matcha from here at all. They do not use the powder anymore. Instead they switched to concentrate. I found this out because after I collected my order from the drive-thru and stared at it baffled, I go inside thinking they might have made a mistake. I tried it as well, you could only taste the milk and the honey flavor I added. The lady at the front agrees my drink does not look like a matcha. She makes it again in front of me and I watch her stare at the new drink she makes in shock as she pours the “matcha” concentrate in the new cup. She hands it to me and apologizes about how they look and how they don’t match up to the matcha advertising they have on the screen. I walked out with two drinks, wasted my money, for something i should have never bought. The drink doesn’t taste like matcha. It doesn’t even look like matcha. All you taste is milk and any syrup you request. It looks yellow. I have never seen yellow matcha before. Their matcha pre-concentrate was actually good. Now? It’s genuinely a scam to advertise a green drink on the screen just for the customer to receive a cup of milk and a splash of concentrate that doesn’t even taste like matcha at all. Wish I would have...
Read moreFirst time here, not hard to see a shiny new building right at the corner of VA Beach Blvd and Davis Street. Large OPEN flag to catch your attention. Parking lot is newly paved with lots of parking and easy access to drive thru. This coffee shop is akin to a Starbucks but a level better offering unique coffee roasts to purchase, lots of branded merchandise to look through. There are breakfast (all day) items.
There is ample seating near a fireplace. Ambience is great.
They offer a variety of breakfast all day items. The more popular are the egg bites (egg white option was sold out at 6:30pm on a Friday night when you think more patrons will come in later until they close at 9pm). They also ran out of rooster wrap and Caesar wraps - the only thing available was the sausage grenade which is like a sausage breakfast burrito but definitely bigger and better tasting than McDonald's 100%! They had branded to go bags and the sausage grenade (wrap) was warm.
I also ordered matcha tea latte but they ran out of matcha too! That's the only reason why I didn't give 5 stars because they seem to be out of a lot of things. The chai latte was offered as an option so I ordered it. It was bland, one-note, tasted watered down and hardly any chai flavor.
Hopeful to come back to try the other items when they...
Read moreBRCC is the closest coffee shop to me and I've heard good things about it, so I really wanted to like it. I've probably gone a dozen times, but no matter what drink I order (cold brew, latte, drip coffee, etc.), it's always terrible - burnt, bitter, and watery. Aside from their coffee, their food is decent but they have a limited menu and it's a bit expensive for what you get.
The service is generally pretty good and the workers are nice, although my order has been forgotten once or twice and I've had some strange experiences in the drive-thru. I understand why they ask if you want to tip in the drive-thru, but it's very awkward to have to tell someone you don't want to tip them, even though it's not typical to tip at a drive-thru.
I like that they have seating, but it's fairly loud inside and hard to hear the people you're with. There are also many distractions, such as all the merchandise, customers maneuvering through the merchandise to order, and the TVs playing ads of coffee you've already bought, which make it hard to do work inside.
My biggest complaint is definitely the badly brewed coffee. I think I'm finally going to give up and quit...
