This place doesn’t even deserve one star and if there was an option for no stars that’s what they’d be recieving from me but Went here with my husband. He had doubts but I was willing to give this place a try since it seems to be a small business but now I wish I hadn’t and just went to plaza Azteca like I normally do and will from now on. I went in and had a seat mind you it wasn’t at all busy. There were maybe four tables including ourselves that were occupied. We waited several minutes for the waitress to come take our order. I asked for chips and salsa which you have to purchase by the way and they were stale and cold had to have her take them back and remake them. Waited an additional 30 minutes for our food to come out after we ordered. I ordered the shrimp fajitas which were cold and undercooked as was the “beans” they were serving with frozen cheese on top. Which the girl brought them back and argued with us that they weren’t cold when in fact they were. Not to mention the rice was also luke warm like it’d been sitting in a warmer most of the day. So I sent all of my food back to be re cooked it came back out fifteen minutes later and the shrimp was like rubber only cooked on one side and the tortillas if that’s what you want to call them looked and tasted like play doh. Not to mentionnnn I didn’t even recieve a fork! This meal wasn’t even edible I left hungry and all they gave me a 10 percent discount AFTER SAYING THEYD GIVE ME A FIFTEEN PERCENT DISCOUNT on food I couldn’t even eat. They said their owner said I could only have a 10 percent discount because “only my shrimp was not cooked” bro 🙄 Thanks I won’t be back horrible service and terrible food. Worst restaurant I’ve ever been to by far. Worst thirty dollars I’ve ever spent. Save your money and eat Taco Bell it’s cheaper and tastes better than this “authentic” Mexican garbage they were serving my...
Read moreMeh. I'll be fair and give this 3 stars instead of 2 or 1 because I don't really enjoy Mexican food. But I went here because so many people said it was authentic, and sometimes authentic food can taste better than the Americanized versions we see everywhere. However, I was not impressed. Authentic meant the type of cheese for my quesadilla wasn't the usual cheddar and jack blend, it meant they served some other things I've not seen before such as Tamal or Flautas, or some kinda corn with mayonnaise, and a Mangonada.
Also, my experience with my waitress was poor. I came here with an open mind, wanting to try something different than my usual fajita or quesadilla, and was disappointed when I asked the waitress to recommend me something and she said very unenthusiastically, "Oh, it's all good."
Gee, thanks for helping me narrow down my selection.
Me: "So what about this corn thing over here, is that any good?" Her: Waves dismissively, "Oh, that's just corn with mayonaise."
Does she want me to buy something or not? Does she want me to have a positive experience at this place or not? So, thanks to an unenthusiastic waitress who couldn't recommend that I try anything in particular, I settled on plain and boring fajitas, which I could have gotten ANYWHERE and gave me no reason to come back to Los Cuates.
We did try the Mangonada, and I also got a combo appetizer that had a Tamal and enchilada on it. I liked the enchilada, felt the Tamal was okay, and hated the Mangonada (WAY too much salt!). Overall, I left feeling disappointed, like there was nothing special about this place or it's food that would make me come here versus some other...
Read moreWe came here cause all of our friends talk about it and I've been once before and it was good so we decided to come back. They sat us pretty quick but the waitress took forever to come get our drink order. We got our drinks and we sat there for another 10 minutes before she came to see if we were ready. Mind you it wasn't super busy in there. Finally she comes over, takes our order and that's the last we seen of her until we called her over for more drinks. We got there at 9:10. We didn't get our food until 9:54. Which would have been fine if it was super busy and people were waiting before us. Everyone in our section was eating already. We were so aggravated, we were leaving when the food came out. One tiny piece of steak for a 14$ carne asada. Portions were tiny especially for a Mexican restaurant. Beans were cold but at that point what's the point in asking for a replacement. She comes over and brings my husband a drink, didnt bother to ask if me or our friend wanted more. I had to ask. She didn't check up on us at all. Finally she clears the table but left my plate on the table. Don't know why but she did. Waited another 10 minutes before we had to flag her down for the check. Once she saw the tip she was apologetic for the wait but why not do that when we're actually waiting for the food. I've been a server for 5 years, learn how to handle multiple tables at once. It seemed to us, that if you're not a table of just guys, they pay you no mind. Won't...
