On May 21, 2025, we entered a written agreement with Buko Resto-Bar and its affiliates to host a K-pop themed event at their venue on August 31, 2025 with the arrangement of $200 for security and 10% of sales. On July 25, 2025, we visited Buko Resto-Bar to confirm event details and upon speaking with Leya, we were verbally informed that our K-pop event was cancelled, due to a party who recently reserved the bar for the same day and paid a deposit. To which, we reminded Leya, and provided proof that our written agreement did not require a deposit. It was then that Leya’s story changed - we were not cancelled, but instead they were not aware of our event. Contradicting the social media posted on Buko Resto-Bar’s Instagram and Facebook on July 17, 2025, advertising the K-pop event. Of course, we inquired why the event was posted if we were “not aware of it,” to which we were told, “we don’t know who posted that or who runs our social media.” What kind of business doesn’t know who runs their social media?! Make it make sense! Buko Resto-Bar and its affiliates took no accountability in the issue and instead of honoring our booking that was made well in advance, they attempted to reconcile by moving the date of our event and charging us $1,000 cash to confirm the new date. (I’m sorry, now I have to pay YOU for YOUR mistake?!?) When we requested documentation of their venue rental rates, Leya was unable to provide that information but ensured, “that they were not trying to get over on us” and that the $1,000 fee was at the discretion of the owner - the same owner they were telling us that was in the ICU! So I do not know HOW they came up with that number, when they had NO contact with the owner at the time! Of course, I inquired why they couldn't contact the party that recently booked and inform them of the mix up to which Leya said, “we can’t cancel them without speaking with the owner.” So how did the K-pop event get cancelled?? It was CRICKETS! After much back and forth, we found out it was a family friend who booked and that’s why they were giving us the run around! When we followed up with Buko, we reminded them that we will not be changing our event date due to their negligence, to which they proceeded to ghost us! Extremely unprofessional behavior!

. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal or a night out with friends. The menu had a great variety of options, from traditional Filipino dishes to modern fusion creations. I highly recommend trying the Lumpia, Dynamite Lumpia and the Silog, all of which were packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The presentation of the dishes was also top-notch, adding to the overall dining experience. The service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food that was served. Overall, Buko-Resto bar is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious Filipino cuisine in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. I will definitely be returning to try more of Chef Leya Duprey's creations in the future.

Went around 9:00 PM, expecting to have a nice dinner, only to be hit with a cover charge just to get in. That should have been the first red flag. The place was nearly empty only about four or five people at the bar so I figured service wouldn’t be an issue. I was wrong.

I ordered a drink, and after waiting for 15/20 minutes, I still didn’t have anything in my hand. The bartender made some excuse about needing a magnet to pour from their odd draft system that fills the glass from the bottom (doesn't give you a correct pour absolutely no head). I get that every place has its quirks, but in a bar with multiple workers and barely any customers, there’s no reason a simple drink order should take that long. Even worse, I wasn’t offered an alternative or given an update I just stood there like an jerk off waiting for something that never came.

For a place that charges a cover just to eat dinner, I expected at least basic service. Instead, I left unimpressed and without a drink. Definitely...
