Captain K — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

I went there for some good fish. Oh well my experience today was horrible. First I expressed the last time I was there which was two weeks ago I ordered flounder instead I got whiting. Ok I let that pass. When I went in today I informed the person at register about the mistake. She said no worries I got you. Ok I ordered the flounder once more. She told me the order would be ready in 15 minutes. The order came out in 10 minutes and I was shocked. I got home opened my box and the fish was in broken pieces. Lots of grease as if the fish was cooked partially frozen and the batter didn’t adhere. Then the hush puppies was just a ball of dough. They were just browned and that’s it. The fries tasted as if they were previously cooked and reheated. I could see the salt sitting on the fries “extremely” salted. I will not go back to this establishment. I haven’t been to Captain K’s in a while, since I’ve been watching my caloric intake. This was a cheat day, so I decided to get the whiting meal. Big mistake! The restaurant is under new ownership and it’s no longer our great little seafood restaurant that we’ve known and loved. The whiting tasted like watered down frozen fish with no seasoning. The fries were a soggy, greasy, mess. The prices are higher and the meal was terrible. The staff were friendly and attentive. I wish I’d just gone to McDonald’s instead. If you plan on going here, just prepare yourself for a new experience. If you like the food the way it used to be, I don’t recommend...

I read the reviews and I was eager to try the establishment. I must say I was highly disappointed. I ordered the crab cake & shrimp. It came with fries coleslaw and a hush puppy. The food was horrible. The crab cake was a premade bread mixture the shrimp where greasy and soggy & the fires were extra greasy. It was as if the grease was dirty or they recooked the food. The amount of grease was unbelievable and it made the food uneatable. I asked for a refund and was told a lot of people like it that way& the food can’t be resold. I definitely will not eat...
