As a longtime Norfolk/Virginia Beach resident, now living in the western suburbs of Chicago, I have visited this restaurant with my girlfriend every few years when we visit Virginia Beach. Unfortunately, our latest experience was disappointing. Felynn has lost its former luster and is no longer the impressive restaurant it once was. The staff, mostly young people, seem to lack knowledge about the menu and are unenthusiastic about their work. We closely observed an unpleasant encounter with an employee who expressed a bad attitude towards her customer and was not apologetic after making a mistake with an order. She assumed that he ordered 15 lumpias instead of 50, making him feel bad in front of everyone. Another employee couldn't answer a simple question about the name of a food. To make matters worse, the food was subpar. The lumpias were soggy, and the pancit noodles were dry and stuck. It's better off having homemade Filipino dishes OR going to a Filipino party instead. I hope the management and owners of Felynn will take steps to redeem themselves and improve the quality of their food and service. And if they do, then I can recommend FeLynn to anyone.

An icon in the area, Felynn's has been serving Filipino favorites for years in Virginia Beach. Little mix up on my order; I ordered the two mains, plus rice combo. Asked for pork adobo, pancit, rice, and as an extra, three lumpia. I received everything but the pancit. I guess I confused the woman. Got it straightened out by paying the $2.25 for the lumpia and getting a side of pancit. The only ding here is that the woman packed the lumpia with half of them sitting in the adobo sauce, hence no crunch. On the food: I wish it was braised just a bit more to render the pork more tender. Same ding as Susan's Kitchenette. They didn't braise the caldereta long enough, and the beef was tough. I know Filipinos (with the exception of maybe my father) don't tend to velvet meat like the Chinese do. Flavors were good otherwise. Go there. Dinuguan on Fridays, apparently. Get your Pinoy freak on.

This is a local family owned Filipino restaurant. It's counter service with inside dining or takeout. They serve can or bottle drinks. I think they serve other in store specialty drinks; I did not see alcohol but I did see a snow cone machine. The food is fresh and authentic. I did a combo plate; chicken barbecue skewer, pancit, and lumpia. It was reasonably priced for the good portion size. I was fully satisfied with my choices. The lumpia is the best I've had in this area. All the staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. Our server was so patient and was kind enough to even let us sample anything we wanted. I also bought some ube mini cakes and their hot plantain topped with caramelized sugar. Two more very unique menu items they serve. The dining area is clean and spacious. This was my very first visit but will not be my last.

I recently discovered Felynn Oriental Restaurant in Virginia Beach, and it’s truly a hidden gem that brings the authentic vibes of a Filipino carenderia right here to the US. From the moment I walked in, I felt transported back to the Philippines, surrounded by the familiar and comforting sights, sounds, and aromas of Filipino cuisine.

Authenticity and Atmosphere: Felynn Oriental Restaurant exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The restaurant is designed in a turo-turo (point-point) style, where you can see the dishes displayed and simply point to what you want. This setup is reminiscent of the small eateries back in the Philippines, adding a genuine and nostalgic touch to the dining experience.

Delicious and Diverse Menu: The menu at Felynn offers a wide array of Filipino dishes that cater to various tastes and preferences. From classic favorites like lumpia and pancit to hearty meals like adobo and kare-kare, every dish is prepared with love and authenticity. The flavors are rich and satisfying, capturing the essence of Filipino cuisine. I highly recommend trying their lechon kawali—it’s crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious!

Quality and Freshness: One of the standout aspects of Felynn is the quality and freshness of their food. Each dish is made with fresh ingredients, ensuring that every bite is bursting with flavor. The servings are generous, and you can taste the dedication and care put into each meal.

Outstanding Customer Service: The staff at Felynn are incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the dishes they serve. They treat every customer like family, making sure you have a pleasant and memorable dining experience. Their warmth and hospitality truly enhance the overall ambiance of the restaurant.

Cultural Connection: Felynn Oriental Restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it’s a cultural hub that celebrates Filipino heritage. The decor, music, and overall vibe create a sense of community and pride. It’s a wonderful place to bring friends and family, especially those who might be new to Filipino cuisine, as it offers an authentic and inviting introduction.

Convenient Location: Located in Virginia Beach, Felynn is easily accessible and offers ample parking. Whether you’re a local resident or just visiting the area, it’s a must-visit spot for anyone craving Filipino comfort food.

Conclusion: Felynn Oriental Restaurant is a true treasure in Virginia Beach. It perfectly captures the spirit of a Filipino carenderia, offering delicious and authentic dishes, outstanding customer service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re Filipino or just a fan of Filipino cuisine, Felynn is the place to be. I highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back for more of their...

I've been frequenting this Filipino restaurant for some time and I often vary my order to get a taste of the many offerings they have. Located in the Parkway shopping area, their food goes well with offerings from the neighboring Kung Fu tea.

There is shared parking in a small lot but you can park in the larger area and walk over. On some nights they have karaoke. There is a dance floor but I've never gone for after hours entertainment. Occasionally you'll see a vendor in the restaurant and on my most recent visit, someone encouraging voter registration. Sundays seem to be a busier day when many families dine in.

There is a bar on site and the line does move fairly quickly so I do recommend you make up your mind before standing in line. Catering, dine in and to go options are available. If you like certain items that normally sell out quickly, I'd suggest going early or calling to verify if your favorite item is available.

For beverages, they have a cooler with an assortment of drinks and they make Halo-halo too. So of all the good things I can say there are some areas of improvement. Notify customers that there are changes in prices and a surcharge to pay by credit card. I patiently demonstrated to one cashier how to use Samsung pay and things go smoothly whenever I'm there. I have noticed preferential treatment to certain customers. This has been demonstrated in two customers ordering the same dish but the portions are disproportionately dispensed. Practices like this drive up the cost and breeds discontent.

If you opt to dine in, anticipate people to walk past you as you're eating to get to the line to order. Its a little close for comfort but people try to make their way respectfully. I'm not sure if they have a new cook or recipe but the sisig seems different. The flavor is still very good but it has more vegetables (onions, red/green bell peppers) than it did before and the cuts of meat seem as though its from repurposed menu items. That's well and good but plays a big part in my level of happiness with the dish.

The servers are often feverishly working filling orders so don't anticipate small talk. An overall 3.5...

The best Filipino food in the area, but be cautious of mold on the breads that they get and sell from Laguna Bakery & Filipino Food (left review for them as well)..

We’ve been visiting Felynn every summer whenever we’re in town for almost 10 years now. Delicious Filipino food and desserts that remind me of my Lola’s cooking. I often get the kaldereta, lechon kawali, and adobo.

However, this past weekend, the two ensaimada that we purchased (made at Laguna Bakery & Filipino Food) had mold on them upon closer inspection. We didn’t realize this until we made it home, 2hrs later. Didn’t take a picture of the ube ensaimada, since I thought this was a one-off (there were small spots of mold on the cheese). The mango ensaimada initially looked fine, but found mold after flipping it over. Disappointing, especially since that was a waste of $15.

We’ll still support Felynn and order food, but will think twice about the products from Laguna Bakery. I’m surprised that the bakery doesn’t write the date made on each product, especially since they are distributing them to other small businesses to sell. Plus baked goods go bad quickly when sitting out on the counter, especially when stored on a styrofoam plate wrapped in Saran Wrap.

On a different note, the inside of the restaurant looks very nice; a huge difference...
