1/6/19: Just want to share my personal experience about this place and criticize your service.
FIRST, your food is par, nothing really special stood out to my taste. Your sisig doesn’t taste like sisig but as expected when made in bulk. The desserts were left out to hang by the window where food shouldn’t be exposed under the sun. The tables are packed closely to one another enough to bump chairs with other tables. Guests drinks are served in plastic cups bought from grocery stores and is self-served. For $14 of buffet i see plenty of wrong with these reasons.
Came to visit for 1st time and got something unexpected. Full story short my friends wanted to eat buffet here, but i wasn’t feeling up to it, I asked about your other meal option posted on your tv screen, but was refused and told, “It is not allowed I cannot sit with my family unless I ate buffet otherwise get out” in tagalog. Without explaining your restaurant policies i was left stunned by the response of your “elder” hosts. I thought filipino restaurants are supposed to cater to family dining.
This isn’t a TRUE filipino restaurant I would be proud of if your staff does not know proper restaurant protocol, appropriate customer service, and respect to their guests. The owners should also consider hiring young employees who can keep up to the modern restaurant standards rather than your old folks who seem to have the...
Read moreWhat a treat! Great place! Authentic Filipino dishes. Cafeteria style serving, got 2 entrees w/ rice, some others got pancit w/ 2 entrees, got some kare kare (unfortunately not oxtails, but beef. don't let that stop you, the beef was so tender, not sure if they pressure cooked the beef, but was very tender, highly recommend if you like karekare). Too full to get desert, went back the next day and bought some packaged ube treats and some hopia. The hopia was legit. If i lived in Virginia Beach, and was craving some Filipino food, I would head to this place hands down. I would recommend it for anyone interested in trying Filipino cuisine for the first time. Very friendly people, low key atmosphere and great food. Not to salty, pancit could have used more vegetables, carrots or cabbage, but was good. Chicken adobo was a little dry, but flavorful, will give you more sauce if you ask, great on the rice. The longanisa was so good especially w/ fresh hot white rice and suka. Craving more writing about it. Will not be disappointed. Can order catered dishes, place was happening Saturday morning, people were picking up serving dishes left and right, cars parked outside w/ hatchbacks open loading up food. Lots of people flowing in and out. That is a tell tale sign of a place...
Read moreIt's been about 4 years since I got carry out lunch from here. Then I recall it wasn't as large of a place, I don't think they had an attached grocery. This time I was so surprised at the selection of turo turo (ala carte point to what you like for your entree - whether you want rice or pancit (noodles), and whether you want 1 or two viands). They had: lechon kawali (roast pig), sisig (pork), menudo, pinakbet (pork with bitter melon, squash, okra, Asian long green beans (sitaw) longanisa (sausage) Dinuguan (pork blood) sinigang (sour soup), chicken adobo, chicken and pork BBQ on skewers nilaga (boiled meat with veggies), List goes on! For sweets, they had hopia, palitaw, cassava cake, Biko, Kutchinta, maja Blanca (corn starch with sweet corn kernels), turon (fried banana in wrapper), Etc. And yes kababayan, I showed my half Vietnamese side slip by asking if the hopia had durian filling! The wall by where you start lining up to pick your entrees had ALL kinds of Filipino snacks- pork rinds, garlic peanuts, ube flavored filled cookies, clover chips, shrimp crackers, list goes on as well! The food is authentic and great tasting! I ordered pancit with lechon kawali and pinakbet. Yummmmy! Will definitely come back...
