Lovely Cakes — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

I really wanted a beautiful cake for my wife's 65 birthday . I told the owner we did not like fondant icing and wanted buttercream icing .I did not want to take another bakery's picture in her bakery, and show her a cake. So I ask her to be creative all I want is a beautiful cake. I wanted her to use her skill and just do a beautiful stack 2 tear cake and 25 cupcakes.. I told her I wanted everything to be special for my wife.. As I was paying her she said she had something in mind. My daughter picked everything up and never did I think this would happen. It was not beautiful there was no piping of buttercream icing no buttercream roses and she use fondant to make a flat bow on top of cake., and fondant decoration. I was so disappointed, and to top it off the cake was not completely unthawed by time we cut it.at 8:30 that night. All my guest said the birthday cake was awful. I told her i wanted everything to be special , even the cup cakes. All she did to the cupcake was a swirl top. I told her my wife was very girly and wanted girly things on top. I paid for 25 cupcakes and a 2 tear cake 290.00. Its not the money I feel cheated by this bakery , because I requested was beautiful and girly. With all do respect the cup cakes were wonderful, but my disappoint in the overall product...

My Fiancé and i had the most stressful and disappointing wedding cake tasting experiences until we came here. The sweet lady who runs this place made us feel at home and put her own twist on the cake flavors as well. They were absolutely incredible and we haven’t even gotten our cake yet. I've been ordering cakes and cupcakes from Rena' aince they opened. Their cupcakes are delicious. I have tried a lot of cupcakes from different places in the area and Lovely Cakes are one of the best I've tasted. I recently orders a cake for my daughter's birthday and she specifically wanted Rose Gold and Rena' was able to get the exact color on the cake which was a two tier almond cake with strawberry filling.
