Sundae Scoop Kempsville — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

My dad and I tried this ice cream shop together out of reccomendation by quite a few people actually and there was so much immidiate supportive reasoning as to why that was brought to my attention. First off, family and neighbors of the owner were in and out showing their support, which to me means the owner is a respectable and likable person. His name is Phillip and he indeed is. He is friendly and welcoming and interacts with everyone. He and his wife run the shop (how adorable) and I enjoy supporting family run businesses. The flavors here are so unique and delicious and are made right in the shop. The moment you have a taste, your taste buds will give you all the reasoning you need to go back. I love the ube! I had no idea this was even an ice cream flavor as I have only had it for macarons and have not seen it anywhere else (and I do my fair share of ice cream eating). It did not disappoint and I've been craving it ever since (this was about a month or so ago). Lol! Their ice cream flavors change quite often too, so there is a lot to choose from. (Yes, I went back a second time not long after). There is indoor and outdoor seating, restrooms, t-shirts (I love that Phillip was wearing a pink one and bought one for myself - it is very comfortable), and they even allow you to taste test. What better way to celebrate National Friendship Day than to enjoy ice cream with your bestie. We spent our Saturday running the streets, attending a geocaching event, dining locally, shopping and 2nd to last stop: WE ALL SCREAMED FOR ICE CREAM!

I had the luscious and creamy peach cobbler with big chunks of peach and yummy cobbler dough with some cute rainbow sprinkles and bestie had chocolate caramel pecan with fruity pebbles (she said it made her feel like a kid again) and chocolate fudge. We both enjoyed our visit here: from the delicious ice cream to the comfortable environment with its cool artist vibe to the t-shirts that we each bought for our husbands. We had fun watching all the different groups coming in for ice cream. At one point I mused "she needs some help" because the customers just kept rolling in.

I thanked the proprietors for having us. It was a nice pit stop during our 'drive the 264 expressway' back and forth afternoon.

I don't get this way often but next time we're here I'm stopping back for more ice cream.

This place is now our GOTO ICE CREAM SPOT! We waited outside in the car and came in right at open time which was worth it because they are fantastic. Also for anyone who comes here, please have patience for you WILL get the best customer service there is because it’s not just a business, they are personal with you and want to give you the best experience. Whether it’s waiting in line or waiting on waffle bowls, which also were made fresh for us on the spot, you will leave here being very happy that you went! It’s a great place for ice cream lovers! I ordered the Samoa and My Wife ordered the Lemon cake flavors, my gosh both of them were amazing but that lemon cake was on a different level man I had to get a few spoonfuls from hers lol, the ice cream alone without even getting any toppings is excellent. The atmosphere is most pleasing, colorful, great workers, customers inside were also friendly, we intend on returning every chance we get.
