**edit - pizza and knots were awesome. 5 stars. *Edit - based on the reply from the owner, Brian, and my wife telling me I may have been too harsh, I've decided to change the rating. However, if you want to make it right, we'll order again this weekend and see how that goes. I don't need a free pizza. Just make sure the toppings stay in place and we'll be good to go. Like I say below 👇, I really like your pizza and want to stick with you guys. Sorry if it came off like you guys suck. No, a LOT of VB pizzerias are terrible. Your recipe and quality are excellent. It was just my last two deliveries that threw me off. Guys, if you don't get it together, we're done. I like your pizza. It's one of the better pizzerias in VB. However, either the person boxing or delivering is killing your reputation. I delivered pizzas for 3 years and never once had a complaint about the pizza being a mess like this Half the toppings slid to the other side of the pizza. If it comes RIGHT OUT OF THE OVEN, DON'T IMMEDIATELY SLAM IT INTO A BOX AND THEN A BAG LIKE A MANIAC. That's how this happens. Either you slid it into the box too fast, causing this mess, or you slung it around inside the car on delivery and it now looks like this. Next time will be the LAST TIME if it comes like that again. No hard feelings. This should be considered constructive criticism, so take it for what it is. Like I said, I like the pizza, so I want to stay a loyal customer.

As someone who grew up in Jersey (by way of Brooklyn), I have a deep appreciation for walking into a pizza joint and grabbing a slice. No fuss, no wait, no whole-pie commitment. That’s exactly what drew me into The Pizza Box. In a city like Virginia Beach, where surprisingly few places serve pizza by the slice, this felt like a rare and welcome find. I ordered the special: one slice and a half salad for $6.99. It was a solid deal. The salad portion was surprisingly generous, fresh, and well put together. I added a soda and had a full lunch that didn’t break the bank. The slice itself? Generous in size and definitely looked the part. Crispy edges, a nice fold, and that classic New York-style presentation. But while it looked great, the flavor didn’t quite match the visual. It was fine, just a bit basic. Nothing bad, just nothing that stood out either. That said, the service was friendly, quick, and unpretentious. And the interior had a fun, proudly patriotic vibe. Think small-town Americana meets pizzeria comfort. It added a little charm that made the experience feel easy and familiar. Final verdict: It’s not a game-changing slice, but it hits the spot—especially when you’re craving that Jersey-style, grab-a-slice-and-go feeling. Worth a visit, especially for the price and the atmosphere.

Would have given 5 stars for all... the slice of pizza was the hiccup. Everything we had was homemade. The garlic knots (10) were the star of the show, fresh, piping hot, doughy, and delicious. The aroma and mouthfeel were out of this world. With it came marinara sauce in a small cup in the center, all topped with parmesan cheese. You have to experience this for yourself, so go. Along with this carb overload, I had a slice of pepperoni pizza. It was a bit dry yet had good flavor. I think next time, order the whole pizza as it is difficult to keep individual slices from drying out. My husband loved the tomato basil soup. It had a definite texture to it. Like a whole tomato minus the seeds all blended into a delightful, fragrant creation. A+ there, he really enjoyed it. Fountain drinks were oversized, and the staff was great.

My family wanted to order pizza. We always pass this place, so decide to give it a try. The pizza really good and taste fresh.

Only thing that "We" didn't like was the garlic knots. They were under cooked. Also, it seems like the pour butter or something on top of them. We don't like this because it makes the bread kinda soggy. We didn't eat them. I really hated this because I love garlic knots

Update. 3- 10- 2022 * Look at the bottom of your crust before you leave.* We ordered pizza for dinner. My son remembered the crust was burnt a little last time. When I ordered the two pizzas which was $44.58. I said multiple items can the crust be done but not burnt. I explained last time my pizza was burnt and meat not speared evenly, something I didn't mention you in my first post because this was a easy fixed next time we went.

.We'll.. my pizza once again were burnt! The meat was evenly distributed, but the pizza was so burnt. I really wanted to support this place, but paying this much money but not enjoying it sucks. We took the topping off for most of the pizza.

The oven must been dirty because some of the pizza had grill , burt or dirty marks. I will post pictures...
