The worst drinks and service ever of all. I visited the Citrus restaurant franchise on 357 North Great Neck Road, on Sunday September 20th, 2020, for the first time, and I wasn't pleased with the service I received from the Manager April. I was told that I was unable to return my beverage due to the ABC rules. Now, I respect company policy and state laws, however her delivery was filled with attitude, she was very rude, sarcastic and unprofessional.
I ordered the Godiva Baileys Irish cream coffee, Decaf and it tasted like watered down coffee. Now this had nothing to do with the fact that it was decaf, (which is the excuse I was given) I couldn't taste the Godiva nor the Irish cream at all. Now they did remake the coffee, however; it was the same. After talking to the manager, she told me I couldn't have the coffee taken off my bill, discounted or have it replaced for something else. She didn’t even make any suggestions for my dissatisfaction with the beverage. To make matters worse, both my sister and I had cold hash browns and our seafood omelet was overcooked. After what occurred with the Decaf coffee, we didn't want to make the situation worse, so she just asked for another set of hash browns and that took a while to come. I asked April for some hot water and pumpkin spice syrup to add some warmth and flavor to the coffee, since I couldn’t have it remade again, and I was met with more sarcasm, attitude and rudeness. She brought powdered pumpkin spice and dashed away before I could speak to her further on what I wanted instead of what she brought. I then had to ask the waitress to bring the pumpkin spice syrup.
Now I have worked in the field of hospitality as a manager for over 10 years, in the Caribbean, New York and here in Virginia and her customer service was very poor. The waitress who seemed very overwhelmed still managed to have better customer service than the manager. This is by far the worst place I have been to here in Virginia, where I felt like I was forced to pay for something that wasn’t good and wasn’t met with any discernment or apologies. I am very disappointed and was angered at how everything...
Read moreCITRUS COMPLAINT On August 28,2024 at about 11:45 my 2 friends and I arrived at Citrus 347 Great Neck Road in VA, Beach for my birthday celebration. I ordered the Lynnhaven- scrambled eggs, turkey bacon and grits with the pancakes. The options were a Belgian Waffle, Pancakes or French Toast with this item. When my item came out the pancakes were very thick … both of them. I let the server know and she stated she had to talk to her manager. She returned and explained that the manager said the pancakes could not be exchange for one of the other options. I asked to speak with Shannon the manager. I informed her that the pancakes were to thick and I couldn’t eat them that way. I then asked could I get one of the other options. She said that was what I ordered. I informed her that I how I know they would come out that thick. The menu had no pictures and she informed me that the internet website showed them that thick. I am a 73 year old woman with limited computer knowledge. I have no access to look at a website before coming to the restaurant to eat. Shannon further stated that she could not give out her last name or the last name of Ebony whom she stated was her boss. She also said we could get any phone number or email off of the website like it wasn’t her job to give out the information. hannon has poor customer service and supervisory skills. She further went on to explain that she could not give any one special privileges? She was not very accommodating at all as someone in charge of a restaurant. I have never been to a restaurant that was not interested in customer satisfaction. It was very clear that Shannon did not have customer service as a priority. Shannon stated that her boss would back her up on this. It was apparent in her tone, the human element was lost in the conversation she had with me today, On the other hand, our server, Samantha was very personable and in spite of the turmoil today...
Read moreIt's pretty smart of them to open a breakfast & brunch place in the middle of Virginia Blvd and Laskin Rd so people don't have to go all the way to Ocean Front to have breakfast & brunch. There's not much restaurant in VB that has a good sense of interior design AND sells good food AND no over-pricing menu. The services are not extremely good but it isn't bad. It really depends.
The food: Hash browns 5/5: It was delicious. The outside of it has a very strong butter taste and it was crispy, which I liked it so much. Egg Benedict 4/5: I had a broken poached egg, which is sad cuz breaking the yolk is the key of eating an egg to me lol. The Hollandaise sauce could have more taste in it. Oyster egg Benedict (Seasonal) 5/5: The poached eggs didn't break this time. The oysters were fried, which brought out the taste of the oysters. Soft-shell crab Benedict (Seasonal) 3.5/5: The soft-shell crab was not crispy enough. I like the oyster one better. Jumbo Lump Crab Benedict 3.5/5: I thought it would be more different that what I ordered. Basically it is just an Egg Benedict with some crab meats on top. Nothing special(They could think of making the sauce differently). Pancakes3/5: Although their pancakes are huger than my face and they only cost $1.99 for two, the center of them was kinda uncooked. Maybe it's too huge that their chef can't control the heat well? Grapefruit+Orange juice 5/5: It's so fresh and this combination is really good. It's just kinda pricy ($3 something, no refill, small glass). Overall, the food can be counted as "good" in VB because I've tasted better brunch in some other states. But hey, it's VB! It is defiantly a good place for a group of friends and family to have a breakfast or bunch. All you"ll need to consider is that you usually will have to wait for a table for15-40 mins because there is always a...
