I was really disappointed with my recent visit. This place has gone significantly downhill since I was here last year. Previously, the biscuit sandwich was excellent—crispy, fresh bacon, a perfectly cooked egg, and a fluffy, flavorful biscuit. This time, unfortunately, everything felt subpar and not worth the $50 I spent when bringing my family w/ me from out of town. The bacon and egg both tasted like they’d been microwaved and not good quality, and the biscuit was undercooked and had a strange texture. It honestly reminded me of a frozen breakfast sandwich. I still love the atmosphere and the decor—they’ve created a great space, the coffee was great too—but that only goes so far when the food quality has dropped this much. I would suggest dropping the food from the menu or go back to the original quality I had last year. Not sure if the cook or vendor changed or simply price cuts.

I found this place on Google because I was nearby. The parking is nonexistent. There are less than ten spots overall, so I had to battle for street parking. I went inside & placed my order to go. I sat at the counter & waited. The batista seemed a bit flustered as she had to serve multiple customers and was the only one working. She told the customer who she served after me that staff is cut down in the winter months. For a late Thursday morning, business was steady. She could have definitely used an extra hand from management. As a result of the barista having no help, my biscuit suffered. The entire sandwich was overdone. It was flavorful, especially the sausage. It just cooked too long because no one could get to it in a timely manner. The coffee was good.

Cute spot. The available coffees were limited to one ready and one pour over. Both coffee blends available on offer seemed to be strong flavors. I was hoping to try more of a house medium blend so I could see if we wanted to buy some grounds as well and was disappointed with what was available so I opted for a chai. My husband got a vanilla latte. It tasted horrible. The chai tasted like it was a powder blend. It had a bitter chalky flavor. The service was slow and not very pleasant especially when I went back to ask for a drink remade because it tasted bad. We try to support local whenever possible but I wouldn't recommend this cafe.

I really didn't want to write this, but here goes... My wife and I decided to take an afternoon break from work with a nice coffee together at the Three Ships, the jack rabbit location on Sept 1, 2025 at around 3PM. We always come to this place enthusiastically, expectantly even -- it's like our own little hidden cafe behind the post office. Upon approaching the counter to place our order -- a chai for me, an oat milk latte for her -- we noticed quite obviously that the barista was not very happy to see us. (Hey, everyone has a bad day. We just needed her to place our order, and then we'd be out of her hair.) It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside to enjoy the sunshine. But before long, it was closing time, so we respectfully packed up our belongings, and I carried our two empty coffee cups inside where I -- quite embarrassingly -- asked very sheephishly: "Uh miss, is there a place where I can throw these away?" (Just to clear up any confusion: I meant in one of the trash cans inside the coffee shop.) Well... "wrong side of the bed Betty barista" said coldly -- and I'm not even kidding here (I wish I were) -- "You can throw it away in the dumpster on the other side of the parking lot." ..... I seriously thought she was joking. (Spoiler: she wasn't.) My wife said to me, "The owner would be mortified if he saw that take place. That girl won't have a job tomorrow."

Ahh... if only she was correct. I did in fact carry those cups across the parking lot because I'm trying to make this world a better place. I just wish this...

I bought a vanilla latte with almond milk. I asked for half and half but apparently they don't make coffee with half and half only almond milk. The coffee is not good. The atmosphere is unwelcoming, the staff don't look happy to be there. I asked for the big cup, they said they only sell a latte with the small cup. This is weird and too many rules for a simple coffee. I paid $8 for that tiny cup. Now I'm wondering how much it will be if it was the big size?! This is ridiculous. waste of time and money.

Update because I can't respond back to the owner's review.

The answer from the owner is exactly the same energy I got when I went there. I didn't upgrade the drink. I asked them to switch to half and half for my vanilla latte. The girl told me they only use almond milk. So not sure why I paid more if they refused my request! Again I paid $8 for for a tiny cup (I believe she said 6 ounce). I wasn't even aware that $8 is not the regular price. Come on its Virginia Beach...
