The service here needs A LOT OF WORK!!! The first time my friends and I came to this restaurant was for my sister's birthday. We had an AMAZING server named Jasmine that took care of us and made us want to come back. After that we came two other times. The second time, the service was horrible. The I arrived with part of my party (two other people) and was greeted by the owner or manager I'm not sure of her position but we told her we had a reservation. She looked around the space and told us she would walk us to our table and as we started following her she took a sharp left and disappeared. We had someone from our party already seated and saw us waiting so she walked us to where the table was but after that, we never saw the manager for the rest of the night. Our waiter seemed like she was scared of us, and acted like us ordering items off the menu was too much for her to handle. We had to flag her down several times to the point where we even had another server (the wonderful Jasmine) flag her down for us just to get the check. The third time we went will be the last. My friend group arrived and was seated...we were waiting for the rest of our party to show up....WE WAITIED 25-30 MINS and not one server came to our table to at least get us settled with a drink or ANYTHING. They were instead....standing near the kitchen....watching us. WE WERE WATCHING THEM WATCH US and they still didn't come over. SO we left, as we were walking out, the owner or manager once again I don't know her position says to us as we are walking "...I hope it wasn't something we did." like ma'am you know it was, that's why you said something. My friend then said "Yeah, no one showed up" to which the woman said "oh your friends?" and my friend said "hmm no, your servers?" and we walked out. Needless to say, we won't be back. Their customer service needs work, maybe Jasmine needs to be promoted and they can learn from her how to treat someone who is coming to an establishment to spend money.
Reply There is literally no need for me to reach out to you at the restaurant Miss. You had the opportunity to make it right while we were there and chose not to . That moment told me all I and my friends needed to know. Thank you, we will not be back and I hope you and your staff can take the time to learn how to treat ALL people and make them feel comfortable in your place...
Read moreI have to say I really enjoyed making a reservation for a party of 6 and walking in to a table set for 4! I had a feeling it was going to be a bad night from the moment I walked in and spoke with the extremely rude staff at the front. I didn't even get to finish letting them know who I was and that I had a reservation before a younger girl yelled "YOU CAN JUST WALK BACK THERE" no one even bothered to show me the table, so my friends/family had to flag me down.
We sat at the table waiting to be acknowledged for nearly an hour before we decided to get up and go to the other location on Chimney Hill.
The hilarity of it all is that a litany of servers walked by us and either didn't acknowledge our existence or just stared at us like we were some kind of inconvenience. We requested a specific server on our reservation and no one bothered to explain if she was in or not or try and make us feel welcome.
When we finally got up to leave the owner/manager/whoever she is said "Oh I'm sorry guys, hope it wasn't anything we did". She didn't ask what happened, didn't try to make things right, or do any kind of investigation. So when we replied it was because no one showed up to serve us she looked all shocked as though she wasn't standing a couple feet away watching us get ignored with a server by her side!
Her nonchalant remarks made me believe that my money was not wanted so we went elsewhere. Now that I am looking at other reviews and watched how things operate the last couple of visits I have deduced it was because we had a black and latino table. Which is crazy because when the service is stellar we tip above and beyond! You need to train the rest of your staff to be like the one we requested!
Edit: And as you can see the person who replies to these reviews is making snide comments about people being slow to compliment but quick to criticize right after a negative review rolled in. It's not a good look. We were considering reaching out to see how they would right the wrong but now I'm completely turned off and just feel like my presence and money is not wanted. I will not beg to have my money taken, if you don't want a nearly $500 table if not more sometimes then...
Read moreWent there for the first time Wednesday evening, with great anticipation from the pictures and reviews. Our server's name was Ly(Le,Lee,Leigh), I hope I spelled her name right I apologize. She explained the whole process including the menu, prices, salad and sauce bar. She was very attentive and thorough, answering all my questions without an attitude nor gave me the feeling I was asking too many questions. Kept coming around to ask us if we needed anything. She was amazing. The food was fresh and delicious, although I do wish they would incorporate more green herbs into the menu making it a true Chinese Hot pot experience. The soup bases were delicious and hearty. The sauce bar had everything you need to make your unique dipping sauce. Also having a guide to help you make featured dipping sauces. The restaurant was clean, decorations were welcoming, and restrooms were also clean. Really enjoyed the dinner. I'm from Massachusetts, just moved to Virginia. I haven't had good HotPot since Hot Pot Inc. in Chinatown , Boston MA. This was the best hotpot and service I've had since moving. Will definitely be back next time we visit VA Beach. Would recommend if you're looking for a authentic HotPot and Korean BBQ experience with great service and...
