I only visit Wawa to get gas because we get food and anything else we need in a snap. The staff are friendly and quick. The food is decent. I enjoy their subs and my husband enjoys their panini's. The burgers are okay, but the fries are great(I do wish they were a little more budget friendly). The mashed potatoes taste like real potatoes! The greens have always been fresh and delicious. For a quick lunch and not to break the bank- I'm all in for Wawa! I'm so glad they opened this one at Centerville! I do wish they would stop cleaning their gloves and knives with hand wipes b/c the chemicals do not dry on the gloves and sometimes leaves a chemical flavor. I do stand by and watch. If I see them go for the wipes, I kindly ask them to wait until after my food is made or change their gloves. I sent Wawa an email to inquire about the wipes they use, but I was given a generic "we'll send it to the store to answer" type of answer. I have had several cold cut sandwiches taste like chemicals over the last few months. An employee told me they are to clean their gloves with wipes instead of changing them b/c it's faster and if they change their gloves, they have to wash their hands. I don't know about you, but I don't want to eat chemicals transferred from gloves. Of course- I did not get an answer from Wawa concerning the chemical transfer from the wipes to the gloves...
Read moreAs delivery driver, the manager bagging up deliveries during lunch rush decided to put an untaped store made drink inside a paper bag then taped the bag without any cup holder inside the bag like McDonald's does. I was forced to holding the bag by handles while driving as it's teetering back and forth within the bag showing she had absolute disregard, disrespect, and gross incompetence for my safety trying to deliver it intact to the customer.
Every other Wawa will just tape the cup lid to the cup for sanitary and delivery purposes. When the cups are taped I have had cups tip over and they DO NOT SPILL A DROP. I could have just crumpled the bag just so I could forcing it into my Target 6 cup plastic carrying tote but I didn't want to risk popping the lid off the cup because the lid WAS NOT TAPED to the cup and it would just look ridiculous when crumpled up bag with store made drink inside delivered. 🤷🏻♂️ I wanted to remove it from the bag but that would have been a contract violation and I could have lost being able to work...
Read moreNormally, I don’t have an issue with WaWa. But this last time that I went I was appalled by what I saw when I actually payed attention to what went on behind the counter! To start service was extremely slow. The back counter was a mess. Food everywhere just being thrown back into buckets to be served to future customers. An employee carried around my sisters food in her hand for 30 seconds, placed it in the counter, where another employee picked it up and threw it into her bowl. My meal was placed on the bare counter top and slid down to be cut. An extreme amount of salt and pepper was put on our meals every time we’ve been. I watched an employee pick up what looked like ham, placed it on a customers sandwich, get told by another employee it wasn’t supposed to have ham on it. She took it off and put on the right meat onto the same bread. What if the customer had an allergy? I mean the amount of cross-contamination and unsanitary things I saw blew my mind! Extremely disappointing and I will not...
