A la mode Pies and Ice Cream — Restaurant in Virginia

My family and I have tasted several pies and cakes from A la Mode Pies over the last few years, and they are consistently FANTASTIC! The customer service is also outstanding, especially if you are in a time crunch. Most recently, we ordered a German chocolate cake on New Year's Eve with 2 hours' notice because I forgot to place the order. They were amazingly gracious when they called to say they may need an additional hour, but in the end, they had it ready right on time. It was our first time trying the German chocolate cake, and it topped an old family recipe -- so delicious!! We ended up ordering another one just a couple days later for other family members. Hands down one of the best local mom and pop dessert shops in NOVA. Their cheesecake is literally to die for, my first recommendation to any cheesecake lovers! It’s super creamy, the perfect amount of sweetness and its cheese consistency was just right, overall it’s dense and still melts in your mouth! We also recently tried their Crumble Apple pie…. Lawwwwwwd, I’ve never had an apple pie so damn good. The crumble is extremely flavorful and crunchy and the apples are the perfect level of sour and crunchy.

The couple who runs this bakery are so sweet and helpful too, they provide great customer service which helps seal the deal. I have recommended this place to all of my friends and they love this place just as much as I do.

We almost didn't stop here. I had a search for pastry shops on my route home on Google maps. Every single location said closed, except one...A La Mode Pies and Ice Cream. No one in my family was disappointed. We were greeted with a tour of the shop's delicacies. The kids were able to pile the toppings on their ice creams themselves. My wife said the lemon meringue was one of the best she's ever had. I ordered a blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream and it was perfectly balanced.
