Bella Cucina of the Lake — Restaurant in Virginia

Spent $91 (including a $20 tip) for delivery order and everything was BLAND. The dough is like unseasoned flour. Literally cardboard. We have meat lovers (the meat flavor sort of saved that one) which the sauce to cheese ratio was not good and kinda sloppy. Hawaiian which was even more floppy and honestly pretty gross. Not even sure what was on there besides pineapple, cheese, and sauce. Looked like someone tripped and threw toppings on. Bland as could be on every level. And a cheese pizza with extra cheese which actually had what I expect the normal amount of cheese on the pizza. Looked the most edible. I didn’t try that one but I’m sure the dough is the same as the other two which would be cardboard flavor. We also had tiramisu (it was ok, not jaw dropping but it was edible and probably my favorite thing we ordered, which doesn’t say much). We also ordered a slice of lemon cello, chocolate mousse, and New York cheese cake. Lemon cello taste artificial. Chocolate mouse was bland with a weird after taste, and the cheese cake tasted sour or bitter. Are you guys afraid of salt and sugar or really flavor in general or something? My hubby even said that it tastes like an old lady that lacks pizazz cooked everything. 😬 You can tell when someone puts their heart in their food, this did not happen. And it wasn’t my taste buds being off bc hubby felt the same with all and we have had no issues with the New Yorker bagels we ordered two dozen of from New York delivered to us. Those are full of flavor and amazing texture.

The one and only time I order from this place. I should of follow the reviews and my own experience with the lack of quality and variety of food around here. I got spoiled living up north in dc metro area.

Only plus side is, they are friendly, and delivery...

My boyfriend wanted to treat me to a pizza for my birthday and we are both incredibly disappointed. He opened up the box a few moments ago and it looks like the pizza was tossed in the box, toppings were all over the place and when we cut into it, the dough was VERY undercooked. Such a soggy mess. $17.00 and so not worth it. From now on we will be going to Mama's where we know it will be cooked and cost less. Don't bother with contacting them on Facebook as they do not respond and a phone call complaint was lack luster. We love their other dinners, but this incident has put us off completely. UPDATE: I wrote a review on Facebook and another customer had the same thing happen, but he states that he was reimbursed for his pizzas while I was told to drive out to Bella's so they could make me another one. I called Bella's and spoke to "Sam" and he said that he knew nothing about it. There is something very fishy about this place. I asked once about the delivery service as it is not always convenient for us to travel due to my health and our server told us that they do not get the charge that is placed on the bill for delivery, that it goes to the restaurant so we decided not to use this service. This is not a very nice thing to do to...

We had reservations for a group of 12 at 09:00 to have breakfast here this past Sunday (3 April 22) . This was the first time my wife and I have been here to eat and in a restaurant for sit down dining due to the pandemic. At this time on a Sunday it is not crowded (while we were there anyway) they already had the group of tables pushed together for us when we arrived. One waitress took our drink orders and she was quick to get our coffee and juice out to the tables. It took about 10 minutes for our meals so there was no real waiting.

I have to say this was a very good breakfast since I had the "Sampler" which was two eggs over medium, BACON, ham, sausage and in-house fried potatoes. My wife had the steak, scrambled eggs and in-house fried potatoes. So in the future this will be another place for us to go not only for breakfast but for other meals. By the time we left (10:15) there were about 15-20 more people in the restaurant.

Over all the restaurant is clean the staff (which were in masks) they were friendly and professional and my complements to the cook for a great breakfast!
