Taco Bell — Restaurant in Virginia

Wishing I didn't have to even add a star! Went due to food being left out a few days before, I had called as soon as I found out the food was not in the bag & informed the manager. She took my name, number & order, skip to a few days later when I go back to get my meal. I was told at the drive-thru to pull up to the white line (only person in the drive-thru at the time) had to wait on another customer to come & order and them bring there food out to even ask if anyone was going to assist me. I was told since the item that was left out is able to have a few different items in it that they had no clue what to make for me.. so I wrote it down on paper for the employee, fast forward probably 20 minutes later, 3 other customers had come and gone and I was still waiting. The door was locked when I tried going in but there was a huge group of teenagers hanging around inside with a few of the workers and everyone was cutting up.. FINALLY after almost a half hour my food was brought out to me with only 2 of the 4 items I was waiting on.. I told the woman what was left out and stated that she's the one that took my wrote down order in the store so I'm not sure why I'm still waiting. Then the cook has the audacity to come outside to me, and say "you legit wrote this order down yourself, handed it to her and now you're complaining saying your order is wrong" At this point I was livid and told him exactly what I had told her.. Only two of my four missing items were there the SECOND time around and all I wanted was to get my correct order that I had paid for days before.. My order was finally brought out to me only to be, old & cold.. Super disappointing & I will be contacting higher ups to address this situation as it is totally pathetic!! I go here a lot. The employees there have always been SUPER nice and friendly, the freeze machine pumps out an immaculate baja freeze that tastes and feels just like it should, and the last Friday when I went there they had a really good cook on who fried up the chalupa shell perfectly and got everything exactly right. But for a good while there, the food I was getting was really questionable quality and orders were being made incorrectly with alarming frequency. For a while there was a weird chemical taste to the quesadilla (I think it was in the sauce, since the steak I got on other things tasted ok), rarely was the chalupa shell fully fried or the cheesy gorditas and quesadillas grilled long enough with cheese not fully melted inside, and almost like clockwork the meats I chose would get mixed up in my order (paid a buck extra for steak, given beef instead or ordered one chicken and one steak and got the opposite meats on each one, etc). It got so bad for a while that I drove 20 mins to Fredricksburg instead to avoid it. They also have a funny way of doing things, pulling people up past the window to wait for their food even if there's no other customers lol. Maybe a covid thing? But I'm hopeful, really hopeful they've got a good cook now and that the problems we were having with the place don't happen as much anymore. And the employees ability to maintain such kindness and positive attitudes towards their customers even during a staff shortage deserves to be commended, because that has been the one constant with this place - friendly folks. The manager on shift (the cashier name on the receipt was “Blessings”) was absolutely outstanding. We had two very long orders and she remained patient and understanding the entire time. Did not make neither I or the other person feel rushed in anyway. She had no idea that we were both having a rough day and was a beautiful ray of sun shine, making us laugh. Since the two of us had long orders it was taking some time and a car behind us drove out of line and up to the window. We both immediately felt guilty for taking so long and she was quick to reassure us that it was not a problem. That was the most pleasant experience at any Taco Bell or any fast food restaurant I’ve been to. She got our order perfect the first time around and it came out so quickly we were worried it would be missing some thing, much to our surprise it was spot on!
