I finally waned to post up about my experiences here, now that I’ve had several chances to come by to eat and on a few occasions grab a drink as well. Love it, love the vibe, reminds me of my childhood with the flavors I love as an adult.
On my first few visits I was just grabbing some carry out for myself and family and quickly ran through most of the sandwich menu. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but the Stallone (imaging a French dip on steroids… the gravy and he super tender beef and then the hit of spice from the big Jersey cherry peppers omg.) and then the Chop it alike it’s Hawt (sorry Italian store, this may be my new favorite Italian sun in Arlington. Chopping all of the fillings gets you that perfect bite of each meat, the Italian seasonings, oil and vinegars and veg in every bite. My favorite part of a great hoagie is when the condiments perfectly start soaking into the bread and you get that solid bite with every ingredient. This sub is essentially that perfect bite of sun for the entire sandwich… can’t. Get enough of these! The Snooki meat ball sub was another very solid contender and I can’t wait to get back to try the steak and cheese.
During my visits I usually grabbed a quick beer or cocktail while I waited and the craft cocktails did not disappoint. The espresso martini can stand up with the best iterations you’ll find anywhere downtown and the fig bourbon drink was like a reimagined Old Fashioned and the fig garnish in the ice was a very nice touch. I can’t wait to get back to finish eating my way through the menu and as time allows come by to hang out for one of their happy hours. Thanks again to the wonderful staff that helped me with my orders and guided me through the menu items on my...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Big Tony’s and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and the aroma of freshly baked pizza wafting through the air. Kat and Kristina were my bartenders and they were INCREDIBLE.
The menu at is diverse, offering a wide array of mouthwatering options to cater to every taste bud. Whether you're a fan of classic Margherita, a meat lover craving a hearty BBQ chicken pizza, or a vegetarian seeking a flavorful veggie delight, this place has got you covered.
The quality of the ingredients used in their pizzas is top-notch. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside, while maintaining a soft and fluffy texture on the inside. Each bite was an explosion of flavors, with the sauce balanced just right and the toppings generously spread across the pizza.
What truly sets big Tony’s apart is their commitment to customer satisfaction. The staff members are not only friendly and attentive but also knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than willing to assist me in choosing the perfect pizza to suit my preferences, going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience.
The ambiance of the place is modern, cool, and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner with friends and family. Whether you choose to dine in or order for delivery, rest assured that your pizza will arrive fresh and piping hot, leaving you satisfied and...
Read moreI came to this place one night because it is near where I live and I wanted a quick bite.
Starting with the positives: The atmosphere in this place (Although very small) is cool! They have a very hip retro style decor which makes for a cool place to grab a drink with friends before or after going out. The two lady’s that were making the food were also sweet and got my food made in a respectable amount of time. Definitely a good face for the business in terms of service.
Now for the negatives: The food was awful. Possibly some of the worst I have had in a while. I got the garlic knots and chicken wings. The garlic knots were soggy and tasted like nail polish. I took one bite, gagged, and threw them away. The chicken wings were slightly overcooked and also weirdly soggy despite the meat being tough to get off the bone. Again, I took a bite and threw them away.
I don’t mind the food being so bad if it was not so incredibly expensive. Some garlic knots and 8 wings cost me well over $20 which should be criminal given the less than suboptimal quality. I will never go back and i’m sad this place is one of the limited options nearby in terms of cuisine. Maybe I’ll check out the bar sometime...
