Bruster's Real Ice Cream — Restaurant in Virginia

I used to work at a Bruster's ice cream when I was in high school 20 years ago. I made the ice-cream (not at this store but the one by my house in PA). Bruster's is one of the few places where I will go OUT of my way just to get their ice cream! It's that good. Plus they have a special place in my heart..lol

Normally we drive all the way to MD to get an ice cream cake from Bruster's. This is the first time we have gone to the Ashburn location. I had made a couple requests for the cake for my B-day and they were able to accommodate the requests. Exceeded what I thought i wanted.

Picked up the cake today and it's perfect! As an added bonus they used whipped cream icing for the flowers instead of the buttercream and it's even better!! I'm not a fan of buttercream but put up with it because it seems like no one uses the whipped icing. The fact that they use the better whipped cream icing is so awesome! I didn't even think to ask but now I will always be coming here. Staff is super friendly and Ian who took my order over the phone was super nice and accommodating.

Had an awful experience after being a loyal customer for 3 years - I’m not coming back. The staff at this ashburn location were extremely rude, disorganized, and literally slammed the window in me and my boyfriends face. For context, after waiting for 10 minutes and seeing 4 groups get their orders before ours (including people who hadn’t even finished paying) we went to ask where our order was and they said they didn’t have it - and then realized they had just misplaced it. We waited 5 more minutes and after getting our order, my partner asked to speak to a manager to voice our frustration with the wait and disorganization (nothing intense just letting them know it was frustrating). The manager on duty’s response to us was “sometimes we drop the tickets on the ground and they get lost” rather than taking any accountability. When we went to walk away her coworker slammed the window - which like - okay dude. But yeah very not cool and not worth the overpriced...

Family and I loved this place and drive out here few times a month. Our last experience really ruined it for us. It was a really busy day with families in line and waiting to pickup. My sister and I were seated waiting for our ice cream to be ready when we noticed a gentleman who I assume is the owner or manager walking around making small talk with the families seated. Mostly asking if the ice cream was good and just exchanging general pleasantries. He then circles back around to my sister and I and asks if we ordered and when we replied that we had he stood there awkwardly. He then tells us that we will be excited to hear that starting next week they will be carrying two Indian flavors everyday. The issue I have with this is no one else got the Indian pitch except for us. We are not Indian. I mean great news for Indians but don’t just assume all non white people in...
