I love the Ashburn location, but I was in the vicinity of the new place, so I decided to stop in. It’s been a while since I’ve been at the Ashburn or any other Buffalo wing factory location.
The prices were shocking. I had a Diet Coke, five wings and a very, very small order of french fries (which cost $4.25 just for the fries). At the Ashburn location, you used to get a big basket of fries for about four or five bucks. Fries were cold, wings were fine. They don’t have the good flavors anymore. Spicy crab was the best. I asked for the spicy crab dry rub, and they don’t even have it anymore. The dry rubs are lemon pepper or something weird like salt and vinegar or something like that. I just had them throw some old Bay dry rub on my wings.
They have about 16 TVs. Part of the restaurant was closed because it wasn’t crowded, which is understandable. The bar area, where I sat, had about eight or 10 TVs available for viewing. Five of those TVs had the Minnesota hockey game on it, the other five TV’s had the different hockey game on it. Not one NBA game was on. Not one college basketball game was on. Just seemed a little weird to have only two different sporting events on a total of 10 TVs. I’m not an expert at this, but you would think a sports bar would have a few more events being shown. I put a couple bucks on a college basketball game to watch while I ate and I ended up watching it on my iPhone. At a sports bar? Yes, I could’ve asked them to change the channel on one if the TV’s but you never know if another customer happened to be watching the game on a particular TV and I didn’t feel like getting grief from some stranger. Not a big deal, just putting it out there that’s a little odd.
The wings were fine. Nothing to write home about. Service was good. Fries were cold. Diet Coke was great. Out the door including a 15% tip for a total of $23. Again, this was for five wings, a Diet Coke, and a small, small, small, fries. I won’ be going back again. Maybe the Ashburn location still rocks, but the new...
Read moreWe recently visited here for the first time and am now bummed we didn't go sooner! I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Cobb Salad (I wish I had taken a picture) and it was fantastic! The grilled chicken had the subtle buffalo flavor and the ratio of dressing to salad was perfect! I highly recommend this dish. I also wanted to try their buffalo wings so ordered the Hot flavor. I paid $1.00 extra to make them "wet." And OMG I have now found my go-to wing place in Leesburg/Western Loudoun. They were so good! I love the flavor that reminds me of some traditional wing places I used to visit back home.
My husband got the fish and chips, and he also enjoyed it. But again, sadly, we forgot to get pictures.
As far as the ambiance goes, it's a bright and lively place with a lot of big screen TVs to watch sports. There really wasn't a bad angle in the place. So this would also be a nice place to watch the games on Sunday, especially since ALL DAY Sunday is Happy Hour!
Service was decent. Nothing negative to say but also nothing glowing. Our server was pleasant, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We also did not have to wait long for refills when needed.
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is a couple minor things. 1. The kids options are limited to only Grilled Cheese, Cheeseburger, Quesadilla, or boneless wings. Might have been nice to have a few more options; 2. The salad and the fish and trips were a little pricey ($17 and $17.50 respectively) for what you get; not to mention the kid's meal prices are higher than you'd expect and don't include the drink. and finally, 3. Charging an extra $1 to make the wings "wet" which is basically just keeping them drippy/saucy seems a little over the top. Especially since that sauce that they are tossed in before coming out would probably just be dumped anyway.
All that said, we will definitely be back because the food was good. And it is nice to have a wing place with a lot of great options OTHER than wings.... although I will always probably still...
Read moreSo I’d like to preface this by saying that I normally go here on Sundays at 1pm to catch all the football games starting at 1, and I generally really enjoy my experience doing this. Very good food, very polite and good service, fun atmosphere to watch the games. Unfortunately, I went here to watch the Sunday night football game this past Sunday and had a very different experience that prompted this review.
I had noticed online that it said the restaurant closes at 10:00pm, and I knew the game would run longer than that, so I called the restaurant on Friday to ask about that and to see if that was a harsh cut off or if we could stay to watch the end of the game. I was assured “yeah the kitchen will close, but you can stay and watch- we don’t kick anyone out.” When I got there at 7:30 on Sunday, I double checked again with the host and was told basically the same thing “we will stop serving and the kitchen will close, but you can stay and watch.” 10:00 rolls around and they turn off the audio to the game but it was still on the screens so I’m like okay fine. Then at 10:20 they shut all the TV’s off 😐. With 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter of a tight and important game, they turn the game off at a SPORTS BAR. This seems insane to me, especially after I had checked TWICE to be sure this wouldn’t happen. The four of us were paying customers, having ordered meals and drinks. Just seems rather absurd to shut off a Sunday night football game at that point with people actively watching, now having to quickly go find somewhere else to finish the game. I hope management sees this and can correct this, because again I have enjoyed my other experiences...
