Burgerworks — Restaurant in Virginia

I never leave reviews but I just got accused of lying over a $10 meal. I ordered the slider meal for my son. We got home and set it on the counter. He never eats food immediately so it took about 30 minutes for him to notice he just got a container of fries and no burger. So we drive all the way back up there and inform the lady and man (I believe manager) at the front desk that the burgers were missing. He was originally apologetic and went to back to have them make the burgers. I was also very understanding and made no big deal about it. He comes back and tells me “I just talked to the back and the burgers were definitely put in there so somewhere along the way done integrity was broken but we went ahead and made them anyway.” Like he was doing me a favor. The burgers were never there. I wouldn’t get out of bed and drive all the way there to have to complain about something. It actually made me think that earlier this year I ordered from there and something was missing that time but I didn’t even bother driving back there. It was embarrassing being accused of basically lying and stealing. Double check your orders. Really I should have asked for my meal to be compensated but it’s not that big of a deal. Burger works, thank you for the friendly team member service, clean & comfy environment, and for the opportunity to experience your prepared Beyond burger plant based burger and fries.

This was my 1st time eating at here. Not eating meat in 13 years and having a small amount of experience, I’m rating the food & fries at a 3 as there is a huge area of opportunity in the existing burger preparation, taste, and presentation at this BurgerWorks.

Plant burger does not take long to cook in comparison to meat burgers, however my burger didn’t look or taste done. My fries were cold, not warm and may have been good if eaten while hot.

Kind suggestion/area of opportunity for your Beyond Meat plant based burger:

1. Make it hearty, tasty, visually appealing
2. Use sliced onions instead of diced
3. Offer Spinach
4. Offer Kale
5. Add spice seasoning (yes, can be salt free and not taste bland but have some kick!)
6. Hire/Receive suggestions from someone who eats or has experience preparing plant based and can offer many delicious burger varieties for your menu.

I am so disappointed with the food and service I received today. I called in an order so I could pick it up on my lunch break from work. When I arrived, before 12:00 pm, the place was not busy. There were 2 young men standing behind the register talking. My order was ready so I paid for it and left. When I got back to my office to eat I opened the stapled bag and noticed that not only had they given me a side of some weird sauce instead of ranch like I requested, but my burger was burnt! When I say burnt I mean it was black and hard as a rock. I called the store back and was met with an attitude from one of the young kids that work there who told me their excuse was that it was really busy. I asked to speak with a manager so that I could get an email address to send her the picture of my awful food and get a refund. I was told the manager was unavailable until after 2 pm because it was so busy. UPDATE: The owner of Burger Works called me personally to apologize and was able to refund my money and offered me gift certificates. Because of him I am changing my review to 3 stars. I still think the staff working in the restaurant could use some customer service training and cooking lessons however I truly appreciated his concern and the lengths he...
