I donāt know where to begin. Every time my family comes in town I bring them to Silver Diner and everyone loves it. So we called ahead to make sure service could handle our party of 7. We were met with someone answering the phone and treating us like we were an inconvenience.
We showed up to a moderately busy lunch and were immediately seated. We did not see our waitress for 17 minutes (I had a timer on to track how long I was nursing my baby) and even after that she didnāt bring any water and was very cold. Once we ordered the food we found out there are no straws! Hello! If you are going to charge me $15 per plate I would like the option to have a straw, but no straws are only for kids cups and milkshakes. However our waitress proceeded to lie and say she was all out of kids straws when just 10 minutes later she gave a different table straws! We had our appetizer come but no plates so we had to ask. Then our 2 kids meals showed up. The cheese burgers were LITERALLY smaller than the slider bun and BURNT, not to mention we never received the fruit that comes with the meal! Our 5 others entrees came and EVERY ONE was wrong. The grilled cheese had a laughable amount of cheese, each burger patty was over cooked and fry orders mixed up. NOT ONE PERSONAL RECEIVED A REFILL on there waters/soda even after asking. We asked multiple times for sauce like mayo and mustard. Dirty silverware. Honestly, with a tab over $150 I would not recommend anyone go to this place. The sad thing about it is you could tell the waitress had an issue with us because of the color or our skin. People behind us were seated and served with cordial conversation before us. I didnāt think it was because we look white (my family and I are all Latin) until our waitress went to another table with people of color and treated them great. I donāt know what is going ono with upper management but this was horrible. I hope service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreShockingly poor service. I'm big on diners, and when they get it right, I'm quick to give them 5 stars. This place doesn't come close to what a diner should be. The food is ok. Just ok. Considering the prices, ok doesn't cut it. I ordered 2 scrambled eggs with home fries and a biscuit. From the looks of it, I think they barely reached the definition of 2 eggs. The biscuit was small and stale. Lots of potatoes, but that's the cheapest item for them to put out there. The coffee was good, but I'd recommend milking that first cup of coffee. It took a very long time to get the food and my coffee got finished. Ordering a 2nd cup took forever. When it finally came, I asked for more creamers which never came. I had to get up and walk to the counter and ask for some. The 6 workers who were standing around doing nothing finally got me some. For the record, we were seated at table 48 on the morning of 8/24/25. My suggestion to the owners would be to send your employees to local Waffle Houses to learn what it means to run a diner. I gave 2 stars. One for the fact that the food was cooked, an the second because the place was clean. If you want to experience the atmosphere of this place and get a good breakfast, I'd suggest you walk in, look around, then leave and head to another diner. UPDATE: As you can see, someone from the company wants me to email them so "they can help". I don't see the point in that. Our experience at the diner was what it was. What they CAN do is respond to my review for all to see and tell us what they will be trying to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDined for the first time 10/26/24 - though we were surrounded by folks who were definitely regulars. This was nice to see! Two folks had their table ready for them before they even got there. There is a definite family vibe of working together, and that is ESSENTIAL to a successful business. I have no doubt you will continue to do very well, especially seeing and enjoying your menu.
The food was great, the vibe was great, but I will be honest, a few things lacked.
We definitely were expecting all of the music machines at the tables to be functional when picking songs for the restaurant (a big reason we chose this place above others, we LOVE diners). It was a bit disappointing to enjoy nostalgia for a moment, only to realize we were not able to contribute in the fun. If it is a staple to your place (I would say it is), please work on fixing this. Half of the songs playing were so quiet over the restaurant speakers you couldnāt even hear them.
I do agree with another reviewer⦠the ceiling in its entirety is a bit off-putting. Just a reminder, that is above our heads⦠AND our food.
Iām not all huff and puff, I promise š we had a blast and Kiara was a hoot. 5-stars all the way. Human error for the music. Would thoroughly enjoy returning in the future. Thank you for your hospitality!
