Captain Tom's Seafood — Restaurant in Virginia

So me and my family decided to come and eat inside of Captain Tom's Restaurant on wednesday, 9-11-24, and we were completely baffled by how one of the Hispanic members (I'm assuming he was a manager of some sort) of the kitchen walked outside of the door and approached our waitress and talked to her in a completely unprofessional manner about why she had to use the restroom (literally not even within six feet of us while we were trying to eat and enjoy our meal as a family) and I could only imagine how embarrassed that poor young lady must have felt. The management here really needs to tighten up or they're going to lose even more business because after seeing how that young lady was treated tonight literally for only using the bathroom, I don't plan on coming back so therefore you all have lost another set of loyal customers. No waitress deserves to be treated that way and that woman was nothing but gracious and patient with us and I could tell that she had a great experience as a server. She checked on us several times and made sure our drinks were filled and made sure we were satisfied during our entire visit. But to see a manager treat someone that way made me not even want to enter that restaurant again. You all have lost mine & my family's business completely. Learn how to treat your employees with respect, and approach them with courtesy, especially the ones who have been there for a while because I can tell this young lady had a lot of years down her belt as a server. I'm ashamed to even post this review but I'm just being honest. The management needs to tighten up and learn how to treat their staff correctly (like a human being should be treated) or this restaurant is going to fall to shambles and no one else is going to want to come here and much less waste their money here(especially after all the price increases when other restaurants don't even charge that much). I know that after seeing that poor young woman being treated poorly, me and my family will no longer return to this restaurant. That is a guarantee. The man who walked out of the kitchen could have handled the situation entirely differently instead of doing it in front of customers he could have pulled the waitress to the side or either inside of the kitchen but for him to do it literally not even a few feet away from us while we were trying to eat was just humiliating and I can only imagine how that poor young lady must have felt. You've lost my & my family's business for good and that's a guarantee. You all need to tighten up or your restaurant is going to fall to the ground I'm just...

I Can't Speak For Jeff's Alaskan White Fish, Jumbo Fried Prawns, Hush Puppies, and Baked Potato Meal .... However, I Ordered Fried Baby Octopus w/ Tentacles, Calamari Rings, and Custom Fried Peppercorn Catfish Fillets. Popcorn Shrimp, Hush Puppies,Green Beans and Broccoli. Our Waitress, Tonya, WAS FABULOUS, and Made Each Of Us Feel Special With Her Comedic & Winning Personality and Expedient Retrieval Of Condiments We Requested That Were Not Already On Our Table. The HOSTESS Who Seated Us Was DELIGHTFUL. My Meal Overall Rates As Follows:

Texture. I Truly Liked That My Squid Was Cooked Perfect & Not Like As If It Were Gummy Bears or Chicken Livers. The TEXTURE Was PERFECT!

Spices: Everything was WELL SEASONED. It Pleased Me That The Chef Was Willing To Accommodate My Request To Add Peppercorns To My Fish's Crust

Sleeper Effect: CAUTION! This Food Is Cooked Heavy And You're More Than Likely To Go To Sleep Real Soon After Eating It. That Of Course Translates to JOB WELL DONE. My compliments to the Cook!

Highly recommend this place Have been eating there quite a few years. Has always been good. Never a bad plate,They have improved even betterThe last couple of years. I've always found that food to be price Very reasonablyAnd very hot and fresh and delicious. Staff is always been very good In 10 years of eating there off and on. I have not had one single complaint. If I lived in MartinsvilleI can eat there every day. Would not hurt my feelings. The Popcorn shrimpIs always a Fail-Safe to being delicious.
