Crown Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Virginia

Went here for the first time today. Husband ordered a two piece combo and asked that at least one piece be a breast. There were so many customers and none of them complying with the social distancing policy. We got the food from the cashier who didn’t give us a receipt, didn’t have a mask (which is required by LAW at the moment for all employees in any establishment to wear), and no gloves. Got home to see that they didn’t give a breast in the order like we asked, so we called to complain. Took seven times to get through to the store. Told the employee our complaint about the chicken (to which he said, “so?”) complaint about the mask (which he said “so?”) and the receipt (which he said “wel did you ask for one? Some people gotta ask for one or we don’t give one”).

Completely unprofessional and unsanitary. I’ve already contacted the health department about the mask issue and social...

"New York" style chicken eh? Not exactly my cup of tea lol. Been seeing Crown's commercial a lot so, while on the peninsula I decided to check them out. In one word: flavorful. Not sure how long the chicken was under the heat lamps before I got there (and I drove 45 minutes home to eat it) but it was very fresh. I hadn't factored in that this was a halal eatery but I knew I was getting young, steroid-free chicken just by looking at the size of the pieces. The seasoning used is unique yet familiar, albeit borderline salty. Maybe someone was a little heavy handed tonight. The coating makes it visually appealing and it's flavorful too. Crown is definitely steps above your average Chinese food joint by implementing great preparation standards to complete with the chicken chains. I understand why folks from NY/NJ love their homecooking...

I ordered the 15 piece chicken meal that came with 4 sides. I got 2 Mac & cheese and 2 mashed potatoes with gravy. Finally got it after about 30-45 minutes. After getting home and fixing my kids plates realized that both containers of mashed potatoes were molded. I took the container back and the man tried to give me more. So I explained that both containers were moldy so I didn’t want anymore sides. My kids refused to eat anything but the chicken. So he then asked me well how may I help you then..I said really? I want some money back or something. He reached in the drawer and handed me $5. No apologies or anything like it wasn’t a big deal. Customer service isn’t too good. So I guess if all you want is chicken it’s a great place. Not to sure if we’ll go back. I do understand things happen but he could’ve handled it...
