I visited this Dunkin’ on Monday, September 28th at 8:40 PM, 20 minutes before closing. I called ahead because I was interested in purchasing two dozen boxes of donuts. My plan was to hand them out to people in need the following morning along with meals I prepared.
When I arrived at the drive-thru I waited 5 minutes behind a car that ordered then when it was my turn I was asked to come inside by a brunette young girl with pigtail braids who said she wasn’t sure if they could give out donuts.... I was completely confused because they were already low in stock and they emphasized on it several times for some reason. I explained that I wasn’t asking for FREE food—I was willing to pay for the donuts, I just asked them what I could pay for them instead of full price if they would just be tossed. Instead of assisting me, she brought up a lawsuit where Dunkin’ was supposedly sued because old donuts were given out to the homeless. It felt like she was assuming I was trying to do the same thing, even though I made it clear I was offering to pay. Her reasoning didn’t make sense—if I bought the donuts and gave them away days later, the same “issue” she mentioned could still occur.
Her dismissive attitude left me feeling ignored. She was more concerned about closing than listening, and shut down her register before the official closing time because I attempted to purchase some ice cream but couldn't she asked another male working there to let me know it was 9pm. While another young man working was at least professional and kind in his approach - I left empty-handed, my questions about ice cream ignored, and my goal to buy donuts for people in need completely dismissed.
I’m not affiliated with a church or organization—I do this on my own to spread love and compassion in the community and spread awareness of Jesus' love for all. It was disheartening to be treated this way when I was only trying to make a purchase for...
Read moreI wasn't given a receipt, so I don't have the store number, cashier, or time of visit. I asked if I can purchase a plain ice cream cone. The female cashier had to ask and after a few minutes a male cashier responded that the cone would be "free, please drive around." I said I had a coffee order and after I placed my order, he said he's making it now. I drove to the window to find a red headed cashier. She said (paraphrased), "a plain cone is $.25, but I can't find the button, so I can't sell it to you." I told her the guy said it was free. She said, "no", while she chuckled. I asked if I could give her the money for it, but again, she declined. So I asked for an ice cream cone with ice cream separate from the cone. She said she had to go check to see if the ice cream was working. She came back and listed two flavors. I wasn't interested, so I asked for cookies n cream or vanilla, but she said they didn't have it. She couldn't remember any of the other flavors, so I asked if there was a cake or brownie ice cream. I was finally able to get a birthday cake flavor. I asked for the name of the guy, I have forgotten his name, Michael? I would say he was helpful and accommodating, but the red head cashier was rude and not helpful. I held up the drive through for $.25. I understand inventory requirements, but is $.25 + tax worth an...
Read moreI would not work here. The owner is poor with communication. I was let go because I came to work on time and couldn't get in. I wasn't informed that the store closed early on the 4th of July. I didn't have a key to get in. I called numerous of people and got no response. The owner finally got in contact with me. She wanted me to wait in the parking lot for 30 mins. Mind you it's 9:50 at night. The southbeach bar that shares the parking lot. Had a stabbing the night before. I already hate how dark it is around that place. But I did not feel safe sitting in my car for 30 mins or however long for someone to come and let me in. I drove back down Hull St. Rd. which would take me about 25 mins to get home. Thinking that if someone gets to the store I can just turn around. No one called until about 10:40. I was back home with my kids by then. I don't think it was fair to terminate me over poor communication. If I was informed that the store was going to be closed. Also, if I had a key like I have been asking for for the past month I would've been able to clock in and start working. I never called out, never missed a scheduled day that I was scheduled for. I think the owner made a...
