I want to express my sincere gratitude to the owners of El 123 Tex-Mex. Raymond, his wife, his daughters, and to his restaurant staff. They catered food for my sisters wedding at Highlands fellowship church in Bristol Va today and it was absolutely remarkable! They came in the night before the wedding late in the evening to setup at rehearsal to ensure everything would be ready for incoming food the next day. This family easily catered food for 50-60 people at a great price. The food was the best Mexican food you could get in Bristol. It was, hot, fresh and the smell lit up the room with the scent of 100 percent authentic Mexican food which made everyone’s mouth water and await anxiously for an amazing meal of everything from a chips and salsa bar to tacos, taco bowls, fajita mix and so much more. If you ever crave for some of the best tomahawk steak and potatoes one could imagine, Raymond has absolutely mastered the art of it. The tomahawk steak was truly some of the best beef I’ve ever had. It was so tender and flavorful that you will just have to put in a special request and try it for yourself but Wow, you will for sure be speechless and stuffed by the end of the meal. I highly recommend this for any and every catering occasion because I promise, if there happens to be any leftovers, people will be arguing over it. Raymond and his beautiful family do an awesome job with the catering service ensuring the food stays filled as well as having a staff member on hand for a very professional experience. Please please please go try El 123 Tex-Mex no matter if it’s for catering or simply for dinner, you won’t regret it!!! Also, sorry for the pictures of after everyone had their way with the bar, I meant to get photos right after setup but didn’t get a chance. I sincerely thank...
Read moreOkay, this place is the real deal. If you are missing Tex-Mex from the southwest USA, go eat here. I’ve been around a little, but this place has the best molé I’ve had since I was in New Mexico.
I’ve had the carnitas. Try the Diablo. Has some heat but not at the expense of the charred onions or tomatoes.
Some places cheap out on the beans. You know, boiled to death with zero aromatics & always needing something to give flavor.
Not this place. These beans remind me of sitting at a table while someone’s La Nana is telling you to eat more & your response isn’t to be polite but to say is that all? Can I have more please!
Seriously, try them. If you like spicy salsa, the house made is unbeatable. It’s made fresh daily, a couple times it looks like.
Then there’s the taco bar. Hard shell, soft shell, pork, beef & chicken. All the veggies & peppers you could want. Yes, the corn tortillas are hand made. Yes they are delicious.
So should you take a chance and try them? Think you’re loco...
Read moreI got the taco bar at el 123 tex-mex, it's all you can eat and your choices are chicken fajitas, al pastor w/grilled pinapple, chicken w/peppers and onions, taco meat, soft or hard shells and taco shell bowls. The food was authentic and delicious, and it was also available with various vegetables on the salad bar like lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, jalapeños and different salsa's to choose from. I felt they could use a couple of desert items on the taco bar, but all in all, it was very good and about $11 per adult for the all you can eat taco bar. And they have a full menu of items to order and they serve...
