My husband and I visited Farm & Fork Kitchen for dinner and drinks. We were immediately greeted and a place at the bar was cleared and cleaned for us to sit at. We were very interested in trying their drinks. I ordered The Cardinal, which was very good. It had great flavors and a little spice, just enough of a spice to taste it and definitely not overwhelming. My husband ordered their Old Fashioned. It was presented as usual with a cherry, orange peel, and a single ice cube (rock). The rock was cloudy, made in-house, and definitely had an impact on the presentation of the drink itself. My husband said the overall drink was good. My second drink was the Paloma. This was very good! It was presented with a slice of lime and two of their small cylinder shaped ice, which we were told was made by an ice machine. My husband had a few glasses of Whistle Pig, neat, which was way more expensive than we expected but we know bourbon and know that is pretty typical. We started our food order with the grilled marinated jumbo shrimp as our appetizer. The shrimps were large and cooked perfectly. They had a very tasty grill flavor. We also split a Caesar salad before our meals came. It had a different flavor to it that I just couldn't put my finger on, but I was really good. It's a pretty good sized salad to have pre-entree so it was good we split it. For our entrees, my husband ordered the ribeye, medium rare, which was accompanied by the smashed fingerling potatoes with the truffle salt and garlic butter and I ordered the seared "Chesapeake-bay" rockfish with the sauteed spinach and shallots. Overall, my husband said the ribeye was "okay". He had a few good bites that he said were better than others because they contained more flavor. He wasn't a fan of the fingerling potatoes, mainly due to his preference of mashed potatoes over anything else, but I found them quite tasty. The rockfish was cooked perfectly. It was moist and very flavorful. The sauteed spinach and shallots were very lightly sauteed, almost not at all, but the texture of the shallots was nice to have in there. The spinach leaves plated under the fish were cooked more from the heat of the fish so I just mixed them up well and that was fine for me. The entree, overall, was delicious and I really enjoyed the caper-lemon butter sauce to put over everything. Dessert was very tempting but with my allergies to cinnamon and raspberries, our options were limited so we passed. The environment was pleasing to the eye and we were comfortable sitting at the bar. There were customers in both the bar and restaurant area, including outside. Our only complaint, really, is that there were times when the bar was unmanned and periods between waiting for our food that we had no beverages. As mentioned, they had customers in all areas but it wasn't packed or seemed too busy, which is why having an unmanned bar or waiting for service is something we felt was a negative in our experience. When we were served, the bartenders were very nice and we had great conversations with them. They were also very open to making drinks outside the menu to fit our taste and to recommend something on the menu they think you might enjoy. We will definitely be returning to Farm & Fork to try their changing menus and...
Read moreSold on the video ad, we are restaurant hoppers, we know good food, this place menu is impressive and well described. However, the food quality, amount and taste is to the lower standard than expected. I ordered small salad with pecans in it to start, and I took the first bite and had to run to the bathroom because the pecan was so stale, I couldn’t keep it. The salad has no flavor either was somehow was going to tolerate it. And from there went down the hill. The lobster pasta was around $40 (I don’t remember) and when it came it is just a regular store bought spaghetti, pasta overcooked. The cream is heavy and runny overwhelming the dish. The small lobster on top taste plain, lightly flavored, got about four small bites out of it. Not worthy of price we paid. They push for wine bringing bottles to use but limited choice and taste cheap bottle and that is over priced. We love quality food and willing to pay but it has to be that. But if food doesn’t taste good and being served old ingredients, spoiled food, it is not worth paying the amount. Their fall butternut:sweet potato soup is again plain …my 12 year old can weep that in 5min. Not impressive. Nothing special.. Overall it is Disappointing. I would like to say the poor waitress is very apologetic. And when she came back after informing the kitchen, I asked them if they taste the salad and the stale pecan. The waitress said that they got the last bag. Must have been an old open pecan. I was told they will open a new bag. But I was not having any salad. In general, bad food. I am very surprised given the the “the quaility anddiscription the video add oftherrataurant. The witressaskedhow thefood was I had to tell the truth. Also, I was disappointed for no manager or chef coming to address our complaint beside to be asked if we want another food alternative by the waitress. The kitchen is open system easy for customer to see while cooking. I see the cooks on their phone, in between cooking. We sat by the kitchen and we can hear and notice the cooks. I wondered how clean they are when also touching their phones and touching our food. Yes, they might be taking “to go” orders… but still. Not worth it. Actually, health hazard, if they sell us bad food. We are...
Read moreWe have been enjoying this awesome restaraunt since it opened and have always had the best service ever! (Gerardo) Tonight, was quite the oposite. We decided to do an early Mother's Day dinner with our kids. Our waitress informed us that she was training a new hire and gave us her name but never pointed her out to us. Turns out, that would be the least of our concerns with her.
We ordered our appetizers and drinks. Dinner arrived - with the exception of my Wife's. Our waitress came by about five minutes after our meals arrived and asked if there was anything else that she could get for us. I replied, just my Wife's dinner. She had that oh sh*t look on her face and said "let me get it". She returned a few minutes later to let us know that "because of how busy she was, she simply forgot to place her order", but she'd expedite it. And she did appologize. We just asked for an extra plate and told her to cancel the order as we didn't want our food getting cold waiting for hers. She said, oh, ok and left. My Wife observed her go back inside to the register and start inputting something in. One would think, since she screwed our order up, she'd "expedite" getting her a plate! So, I had to get up and go ask her for the plate. No apology, just a "here you go".
Meanwhile, back at the table, our drinks were empty. Again, if you've dropped the ball in your service, one would think that you would jump through hoops to make everything else better. Not the case here. We had to ask for refills as we began to eat. They brought mine within a few minutes, but my son was almost finished with his dinner before his drink arrived.
Food was amazing as always however, the service was not so good and kind of tarnished our celebration.
Most nights, they are extremely busy however, the service has always been top notch. Hopefully this young lady was just having an off night and this was a one timer.
PS: Bring...
