Passion Fin — Restaurant in Ashburn

I was a regular at the PassionFin in Fairfax when it first opened and also have been to the Reston location a couple of times. When I saw it in a shopping plaza in Ashburn, of course I had to try it. It has a lot of the same items on the menu as their their other locations, but I didn't think it was as good. I ordered the lunch special with 3 rolls to go, Philly, Boston, and shrimp tempura (my usual when I worked in Fairfax). The Boston and tempura rolls were overwhelmed by the amount of veggies inside and there wasn't much shrimp. When I ate a piece, all I got was cucumber and green onion. The rice was also on the hard side. Philly was standard, again a little skimpy on the salmon. This is far from the best sushi in VA as many others have claimed (where do you usually get your sushi??? Wegmans?) but it's good enough if you're craving some and need something close by.

Service-wise, I ordered online and my order was ready to go when it was supposed to be. They were open for indoor dining and staff were wearing masks. I have no complaints there. Unfortunately didn't get any pictures since I usually do a working lunch but the...

NEVER order from this place. First of all, NO MASKS from the chefs. This is not a safe place to eat. I would not be surprised if they caused numerous cases of Covid from tonight. We ordered at 6:12 pm, a dinner for three people, not anything fancy just normal food. The estimated wait time was 128 minutes. There was no warning or notice anywhere on the website whatsoever and no notice of that during our ordering process. We arrived at the restaurant at the time they told us. They then proceeded to tell us it would only take 20 more minutes. We called and check after 20 min and they told us the same thing... THREE TIMES. That is 1 HOUR IN THE CAR FOLKS. ON NEW YEARS EVE. Ordered at 6:12, gave up at 10PM and just asked for a refund once we walked in and saw that they were not wearing masks in the kitchen. And once it hit 10pm, nothing else was open so.. THANK YOU FOR ABSOLUTELY RUINING OUR...

Really cool place in a quiet shopping center. I can’t say enough good things about the service and the atmosphere.

The server was terrific, and I was met by a very friendly hostess who seated me right away. Really nice atmosphere, the place is clean, great drink selection and a nice bar if you’re inclined to watch a game .

I tried three different rolls and an appetizer. I would say the food is above average but isn’t the most fresh I’ve ever had. That’s the only reason for a four-star and not a five star. For example, the fresh jalapeño didn’t seem very fresh at all and looked like it had been sliced several hours earlier. I wouldn’t say the food was bad by any stretch, but I expected something a little more fresh.

I will definitely come back, maybe they were just having an off day in the kitchen. Again, the service an atmosphere where outstanding and it’s definitely worth...
