Manager calls my family Scammers for trying to use a coupon.
Today I started using the Five Stars app. for the first time. I found a good deal for The Burger Shack, 20% off for spending $20 or more. I've been to the Chantilly location a bit ago and wanted to take my family there for the good food for their first time.
We got there about 20 minutes before closing. I ordered and put my phone number in. It showed the discount available. I gave my card to pay, then I asked if the 20% was on there. A puzzled look from "E" I believe to be the manager or owner. He said he knows nothing about this. I showed him the app. He was not going to give me my 20%off. I said fine and cancel the order if he could not honor the coupon. He struggled with the register for a bit and he said he could give me $6 cash, the bill was around $32, if we stayed. I was fine with the agreement.
We went outside to eat as it was a nice night and waited for a short time for our food. Our food arrived at our table. Everything was as it was when I visited the Chantilly location. The food was really good. The temperature and taste was perfect. The fries were seasoned just right. All was fine, until...
Until "E" walked out and said he gave us the $6 out of the kindness of his heart. I'm thinking no he didn't because I was going to walk out and wanted my money back with no food and eat somewhere else. He then commented to my wife saying you should have respect for getting a kids meal. I had it at that moment and started to say you need to understand what you are signing up with discount services. He then called us "Scammers". I lost my appetite, my daughter started to cry, and my wife was upset. so we left.
I'm sorry "E" did not understand the service he signed up for and don't blame the customer for this. (Picture of award below) I will never go back to any Burger Shack at this point. It is ironic because when we first arrived I said to "E". "You got a customer because of the...
Read moreWas in the mood for a burger and got tired of the typical 5 guys, etc. Saw this online and was impressed by the pictures. Place was very clean and staff friendly. Ordered the philly burger with tater tots and wow, was it good. Probably the best I've had since moving in the area! The burger was gourmet (premium angus) with one of the biggest and juiciest patties I ever had. Bun was soft and toppings were well prepared and just simply superb. Took a while for the food but man it was worth it. Price is comparable to other spots but quality far exceeds. Tots were decent but lacked a little flavor. Overall best burger (wouldn't consider fast food burger) I've had and will be back!
Update: Have to downgrade my review based on the last few times visiting. As someone mentioned below, my burgers also have had black crust on the top recently. Not sure if it’s new management or a new cook but it’s unacceptable to have excessive char on these burgers based on pricing. It’s not very edible and hope management makes adjustments. Will not return until addressing..
2nd update; Came back after a year or so but still lackluster food. Takes forever to even get your food. Think the wait worth it? no.. Overcooked tater tots and burgers that drip grease like crazy. You can even taste the old grease in the burger itself. Can’t believe how this place went downhill. The other location is...
Read moreI visited this burger shack in Ashburn with my girlfriend last weekend for the first time. Manager’s son took our order at the register. Nice kid but had very little training, as he couldn’t answer any of the basic questions we had regarding the menu items. Apparently my friend ordered a $10 cheeseburger with NO other toppings or sauces because it was apparently a custom build. So they bring the food out to the outdoor seating area where we sat. The food was mediocre at best. Fries were overcooked with too much seasoning. My spicy chicken sandwich lacked flavor. I tried a bite of my friend’s burger, which also lacked flavor. I’ve had much better burgers and fries at other restaurants like Burger21. This is the moment it turned into a nightmare. A freaking mouse appeared right underneath my friend’s seat and started crawling all over. We immediately left the property disgusted and disappointed and dumped the food. I decided to call the restaurant and speak with the owner directly the next day to explain the situation, and sure enough, the owner immediately became very defensive, rude and verbally abusive. In his own words, “that’s not my problem!” Do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere with better quality food and customer service… where the restaurant meets local and state food and...
