UPDATE ON JUNE 2025: as of now, Amor café has rebranded to Gavi Café, which also has a location in Chantilly inside Tilly kitchen. They have a completely new menu, which is a bit unfortunate because a lot of my favorites are no longer available (like the Thai tea and their bingsoo) They do have some new drinks, though they lack the spark that Amor had. The bright side though is that all of the pastries remain the same. They still taste very good and are high-quality, so i’m thankful for that.

I don’t know why they rebranded, and I’m a little disappointed about the sudden change, and I hope this does not become a copy and paste of the Chantilly location. I hope they bring back some of the staples from Amor Café that their longtime customers used to enjoy.

OLD REVIEW: I LOVE coming to Amore anytime I have a free day! The staff are amazing, the pastries and drinks are the best, and the atmosphere is perfect for relaxing and getting work done. I come here all the time with friends. They have a large selection of baked goods to choose from, some of which they rotate out to add new things. Of all of the things I’ve tried, everything has been delicious. Really love it here, definitely come...

TL;DR: Cute cafe with yummy pastries, variety of drinks, and breakfast/lunch options

Gavi has a location that is located inside of Tilly Kitchen and now they have this brick and mortar spot. The inside is cute and has plenty of seating, as well as some tables outside.

They have a pastry case full of sweet and savory options, as well as some packaged items and shareables on the side. The menu is full of a variety of coffee, tea, and matcha items and the workers were more than happy to answer any questions. They also have some meal items. I have had the sandwiches at the Tilly Kitchen location, and they are pretty tasty!

FOOD: ~Matcha einspanner (3.8/5): decent matcha flavor, but very thick from the topping. Could use a few more drops of honey or some sweetener to balance out the bitterness and richness

~Matcha cube croissant (4/5): flaky goodness. The filling was very light and tasty, but wish it went throughout the cube

~Tiramisu croissant (4/5): croissant was so good and good ratio of filling

~Castella roll slice (3/5): basic castella

Overall, really like the vibe in here and will be back for...

So I decided to visit off the humble during lunch and thought to give this place a try. Upon arrival, I was lost since another company's logo was there but I took a closer look and noticed, it's GAVI. So you may be confused at first. But needless to say, I walked in and I will say that the ambiance, service, the options, and quality were overall amazing. Lot's of creative pastries that I would never have thought existed. Options are a wide variety too. I wouldn't want to leave anything that catches your attention behind lol.

I actually love a smaller hole in a wall establishment that brings you in and catches you by surprise. The Bulgogi K-BBQ Cheese Egg sandwich was top-tier. So good. The Caramel Einspanner Latte was super rich, sweet and delicious. Pretty much a liquid dessert. And lastly, the mouse cups. I couldn't decide so I went with the blueberry flavor.

The cashier was really nice, provided excellent service and was very knowledgeable which really helped me order since I felt like holding up the line behind me lol. Anyways, this place is a gem. One of the best cafe's I've experienced and I...

I have people who swear this is the bakery to be. The online reviews also back it up with a 4.8. However, my first time experience with my selected pastries did not match. They weren't super flakey, all slightly overbaked/burnt, slightly tough with hints of bitterness. The almond and apple turnover had all these but were the better of the three. The apple turnover didn't have enough of the filling to balance the pastry. The croffin was the most pricey and the one I looked forward to the most but was the worst item of the bunch. The croffin lacked flavor and flakiness and the hint of bitterness from being burnt was stronger than the others. The filling was broken, unflavorful and filled too light. It was a Nutella croffin but I couldn't taste Nutella. The andes mint chocolate on top was not a good pair. A bit random awkward for a Nutella croffin. Maybe it was just a bad day?? Even so, to have most items burnt is sad for a paying customer to experience.

The slow and steady encroachment of asian-style cafés and bakeries is one of the few positive benefits to surburban crawl and/or gentrification in a locale. There is a bunch of competition just a few miles away but Amor fills a gap by offering a casual sit-down coffee beverages in a small sleepy neighborhood shopping center. While Amor café can be hard to find and not even visible from the main street, what seems to set Amor apart (from what I can tell) are the shaved ice menu offerings and the single origin coffee bean sourcing [from Cervantes Coffee Roasters] that may be hard to find north or south of this location. I'm not a coffee nerd but I am certainly convinced from recent true small-craft specialty cafés that real single origin coffee tastes far better than 'mass-craft' coffee from Starbucks or Peet's *and at the same prices per cup*. Amor's asian bakery items complement beverages just perfectly even if it is small.
