Poor customer service at this location. This is my second one-star review of this location (deleted previous from a year ago in order to review again). Food is GREAT...no issues there. However, employees are another story. Visited this location at 6pm on 4 Dec. Called ahead to order. No one answered the phone, which is a common trend for this store and the new store on OKM. Because I was working on a timeline, I wanted to order before I arrived, so I continued to call until someone picked up (about five minutes of continuous call backs). When the phone was finally answered, the employee seemed irritated to be answering it. When I told them I wanted to place an order, their immediate response (in a snarky tone) was "you know we have an app, right?" To which I replied I did, but that I was driving. The employee took my order as though I was a nuisance to them. When I arrived at the store a few minutes later, I was treated with the same level of irritation from this particular employee (and they didn't know I was the caller). Specifically, upon my arrival to the slicing station, again in an irritated tone this employee muttered "hot or cold sub?" (Yes, I know all JMs ask this, but MOST start with a "hi" or "welcome" and have a welcoming tone and customer service). For whatever reason, I lost my composure and informed the employees of their poor performance in customer service and that they historically have been the worst JM in the area until the OKM store arrived. Burke/Springfield residents...if you like JM, I HIGHLY recommend you visit the store on BACKLICK road. They are fast, friendly, and efficient. I think I am now done with Burke and OKM, and will go out of my way for the Backlick Rd store from here on out. JM Corporate...this is not an isolated incident for this store. I have lived in the area for years and visited numerous JMs up and down the east coast prior to settling in NoVA. I have avoided this store for almost a year due to it's poor performance. I tried again tonight, and found nothing had changed. I recommend you provide a refresher on customer service to this store.
EDIT: So don’t believe that JM cares when they tell you that. I asked for a phone number to provide details. I called it an left a message and never heard back. No wonder things are in such disarray...
Read moreI worked for a different Jersey Mike's a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I'm a fan for life.
This Jersey Mike's has been good in quality in all my orders (which my husband usually picks up). But today I went in to order and pick up because my app wasn't working. (It's also my birthday, and a bit of a tradition to eat there on my birthday.)
The three boys who were working had good attitudes--one had a great attitude, and was obviously the most senior of them. One was obviously very new, so the other two were training him on wrapping. The older woman who was the manager on duty was so harsh and rude with them, I was appalled. It was extremely unprofessional. They were a little in the weeds with online orders, so I gave the very new guy some instruction as he wrapped my sandwiches. The woman yelled at him for me helping him a little! There is nothing unprofessional about being new and needing to be trained, but there is something awful about the person clearly in charge being so oppressive to the people she's training. I feel for those boys. If the owner/upper management doesn't address this woman, I'm sure they are going to see high turnover and low morale.
She was rather gruff in her demeanor to myself and the other in-store customers, as well.
I give four stars: one star each for my sandwich and each of those boys, and minus one for the woman who sliced...
Read moreMy experience at Jersey Mikes was unbelievable The employee on the grill does not look like she’s happy to be there. The place looks disgusting. Everything was a mess. And on top of that nothing looks like it’s an order. What is going on Jersey Mikes? I don’t even wanna bring my child anymore here. There was breadcrumbs, sliced up meat everywhere on the counter. The old general managers were so much better and cleaner. I understand they are young so they have much to learn, but this new general manager needs to step up or step down plain and simple I expect to return to Jersey Mikes soon just to give you guys a heads up. Hopefully everything looks better. But if not, you might as well just shut the place down. Nobody said hi. Nobody looks like they’re happy. Everyone looks mad. It’s such a shame, especially because Jersey Mikes is a neighborhood store. Very disappointing. Customer was waiting more than 40 minutes for the sub. No one‘s communicating. There was one guy just standing there. Not pitching into help. I remember when the old general managers were there. The guy who cashes the people out goes in immediately, helps his worker but no he didn’t there’s no teamwork straight disappointing...
