My husband and I hadn't been to Long John Silvers in a long time, our last experience left us disappointed so we decided maybe, we should give it another try. We stopped by the facility on Dale Blvd.,on our way home on Labor Day. There was a couple of families already seated and finishing or finished with their meal. Another couple was getting drinks as we ordered. The lady taking the order informed us that their was no ice. We let her know that it was okay. As I walked to the soda dispenser I noticed spilled ketchup on the floor just under the condiment area and a piece of paper laying on top of it. As I walked by the trash bin on my way to a table there was bunched up napkins on the floor, drinking straw and another piece of paper. Several tables had food residual on them. The floor had scrapes of food and napkins around several tables. Another employee, female walked by the condiment area, the trash bin and tables, cleaned one table. I went back to the condiment area to get plasticware for our meal, stopped and picked up the trash that was still on the floor and placed it in the trash. Upon sitting down I remarked to my husband "I would never come back, the place is a pig-stye." I looked more closely at the dinning area because I felt stickiness around the edge of the table as I was adjusting myself in the seat. My thought was (where is Chef Ramsey). The furnishings are filthy, outdated, and in need of repair. The windows were filmed over, made me wonder when they were last washed. After my remarks a male employee stepped out from the kitchen messed around the partion where we were seated however, I had had finished my remarks as we started to eat. The clean up lady came back out wiped down a couple of tables, did a quick sweep leaving some crumbs behind. I said to my husband, "This place has a management problem. " this Long John Silvers has had an ongoing problem for a long time now. I couldn't help but wonder if, the kitchen was cleaned and was good food safety standards being...
Read moreI really like this place since there isn’t that many anymore. So me and my family drove like 45 minutes to get here. This place is very nostalgic to me so obviously I loved the food.
There was a lot of confusion with the hushpuppy counts and getting extra and what not the lady at the drive-through speaker was a little rude but honestly I don’t blame anyone staying at Long John Silver’s with a team of three at 8 o’clock, so I am completely fine with that. We all had a laugh in the confusion even the worker because you know they’re all human too.
They made our food pretty fresh from scratch (or as close as you can get to fresh at a fast food place) which I loved and it only took like 15 minutes. And due to their only being three people, the dining room is closed. However, they gave us plates so we could eat out nearby since we didn’t wanna drive 45 minutes back home and have our food get cold.
Fish and chicken are reaaaaally greasy so beware if you don’t like greasy foods. The hush puppies and coleslaw were immaculate and by far my favorite. The fries were OK a little soggy, and under salted and they give you tartar and ketchup with your food. also, a heads up the family platter does not come with a drink so either order that separately or get it from somewhere else like we did.
Overall if you like seafood fast food and know what you’re gonna get just be patient with the workers and you’ll get your food. I would definitely come back here if it wasn’t so far away. Only critique is the hiring staff as gotta find...
Read moreThe food was great! The best I've ever gotten from any Long John Silver's. The service was the best that only two people, the cook and window cashier who I saw working, could accommodate on a very busy lunch weekday. They were hustling and doing the very best they could, despite being short-handed. (I felt like parking the car to help out! SorryI didn't. : ( And they both had great dispositions regardless of how hard they had to work. Ashley was very competant in handling both the window and the front inside customers. The cook was very grateful for the words of encouragement I gave him when he delivered my food to the window. Whoever the owner of this restaurant is should compensate these two for their commitment to the store!! and then some!!! They should also see about updating it and giving it some attention to the building both inside and out. There are birds living under the eves. The building looked in need of desperate repairs. The speaker at the order drive thru was broken which caused a long wait in line due to the order being taken at the window. No one should run a business this way ever! It's a busy restaurant and would be even busier if you invested something into it. Running it this way is a loss to the owner and the customers!! And hire some decent help just like the two dedicated people who were there at 12:50 PM on 2012-06-07. These two could go someplace else and do less for a...
